They are legal where I live. Thank you for violating the Y!A TOS by not answering my question. You've been so helpful!

I tend to prefer pepper spray as opposed to a stun gun. As has been mentioned, you have to close to contact range with a stun gun. If you can touch them, then they can touch you! With pepper spray, you can spray from outside contact range. With a human attacker, you can be backing away and saying "Get back! Help!" as you spray him. This makes sure witnesses remember you as the victim. Also, pepper spray is quite effective on dogs.

If you get a stun gun, don't try it out at all! If you do, change the battery with a new one. With most civilian models, you only get one good, full power jolt. So, if you hold it up and push the button to see the neat blue sparks, you've wasted your best hit. Also, don't try and intimidate anyone with it, as again, your one good shock is now gone. Stun guns, like pepper spray, work best when used suddenly, and without warning.

I couldn't really tell you which one to get, since I don't use them, but I'd recommend at least 50, 000 volts.

Good luck!

The first thing you need is to determine their legality in the state where you live.

You're better off buying a gun.
They're legal in all 50 states.

Yes, check the legality in your state. And then, when you get it: use it on yourself.

You really need to intimately know the pain you are causing others. It will make you more cautious about the whole creepy trip.

Get one from a police supply you can find out the civilian limits there and actually see what you are buying...

Yea don't test it on yourself they hurt [we had to get stunned in training so we would know what it felt like if we had to use it ] Make sure what the rules are in your state then talk to your local law enforcement agency they have experience with them and will be able to tell you what would work best for you
