They'll tell you that people with their beliefs founded this country. Which they didn't, by the way (Founding fathers were Deists, and if we're going to go with the whole "Well, the first settlers were Christians, we should be too!" idea, well, actually the first settlers were all Natives who had their own gods, so we should really be pledging to Coyote) but even if they did, in this country based on freedom, why should that matter?
If it was possible to teach all religions in schools, that'd be great. But if we did that, we'd have no time for anything like math, or history, or english. Best to leave religion out completely and let it be taught at home. Only things based on fact need be taught in public school.

Some people do believe that "spirit" is an enrgy form with consciousness. I brought this up to many religious people over the years, and, of course, I get slammed with "Stop being so blasphemous!!!". As for being/entity- if it has consciousness, I'd call it a "being". For example, in the Egyptians chasing the Israelites to the Red Sea story in Exodus, it says "The Lord stood between the Egyptians and the children of Israel as a column of smoke by day, and a column of "fire" by night". That "fire" was a column of pure energy- lightning. Imagine that.

well according to the Bible , God does not live inside all living creatures. The Bible says that because of our sin we are separated from God because God is holy and we are not. We don't meet the requirment but God made a way to reconcile man to Himself by sending his Son to atone for the sins of the world so that if we put our trust in faith in Christ and repent of our sins we will be saved. Hope this helps.

Yes, I would have a problem with somebody teaching MY children that. This is why I'm against religion being taught in schools, unless it's an overview of various major world religions.

Everyone is entitled to their view, many are just misguided.
The truth does not change because we would rather make God in our own image, than accept that we are made in His.
You can accept Him, or forsake Him, that is your choice, but in the end He is still the way, the truth, and the light.
I heard it put this way a few months ago, and it says it all.
People may believe that there are many roads that lead to Heaven, and right they are; however there is only one gate keeper, Jesus Christ, and you will still have to go to Him to get to the father.
