how does someone that works for a company that went bankrupt be rude about money questions?

If the company went bankrupt, they are probably tired of fielding questions related to the bankruptcy, especially when they'd like to know too.

There's no excuse to be rude. However, just because the company went bankrupt doesn't mean the individual had anything to do with it.
