Emotionless and arrogant comes to mind. Very, very sad that something has happened to that little girl.

Not guessing one way or another here but look at the facts. A child is missing, and no one knows how she went missing. The parents say she was abducted, but other than their word there is no evidence to support this. No witness to the crime, no firm sightings. Without a body there is no evidence she is dead (or, for that matter, that she is alive), and every "sighting" has proved to be mistaken. Whether she was abducted by a stranger or if the parents were involved, either way a crime has been committed and all avenues need to be explored.
When someone goes missing, particularly a child, the home and all its potential hiding places should be the first to be searched, and the parents should be the first people to come under official suspicion, even if only to rule them out of the enquiry.
I wouldn't pay too much heed to the Portuguese meaning of "suspect", this title seems little more than a legal device there to stop discussion of the case and help them be able to ask more questions. Questions which ought to have been asked on day one. If they had done that maybe the enquiry would be more advanced!

No, I don't believe they are innocent. There are to many holes in there stories. How can blood end up in a hire car that was hired 25 days after the child has gone??? No emotion from the parents, they thrive on the media attention, the world tours, the meetings with powerful leaders...Pope, etc....they even have a PR rep. oh and did I mention the 1 million fund.....Oh they love it.
What about the missing hour???
Hmmm, if my life depended on it i would have to say they were guilty. There is no other logical explanation.
Funny how our police have kept quiet all along and only became involved when asked by the Portuguese for assistance. they have never defended them because they know full well that they are guilty.
These are cold hearted people with no emotion or conscience.
And all the evidence is pointing towards them now.....it's about time the silly do gooders woke up and smelt the coffee. The world is a bad place and bad people do exist even middle class bad people. You'll all feel very silly with yourselves in the next few weeks when they are arrested and charged and imprisoned.
They deserve whats coming to them.

I don't know if they are innocent or guilty or whether the little girl is alive or dead, but I am hoping they are innocent and that she is alive. Yes it was stupid of them to leave her alone but on holiday people do do things like that when they feel it's a safe place to be. I am puzzled by the blood sample being found in the car 25 days after it happened. Blood is human tissue. In the heat of a Spanish summer it would attract viruses and bacteria that would feed off it and contaminate it and it would also dry out. In nursing blood samples from patients had to be taken again if the Dr drew it up too fast. The blood cells would burst (haemolyzise) and the cell contents would spill out into the sample. They would be unable to test the blood. Surely the blood in the car would haemolysize due to heat and dehydration. The genetic material in the cells would spill out of the cells and get lost, damaged or destroyed. I have some doubt if 25 day old samples of dried blood could the genetically identified with any certainty.

Katie,Gerry, Maddie and God are the only ones who know the truth, everyone else is just second guessing! Perhaps the police in portugal should be thinking about the stupid mistakes they have made, right at the very beginning, but who am i to say? I know nothing, I hope and pray that maddie is alive and well, being taken care of a couple who couldnt have children of their own, who maybe payed loads of money to someone to steal her away. I pray for some peace for those poor parents.

I would like to think so. Unfortunately, with the level of media attention on this case it is hard for any member of the public to form an informed opinion. Nobody is a perfect parent and nobody watches their kid 24/7, and if any parent at all was scrutinised to the level the McCanns have been at, they would appear bad.
However, bearing the behaviour of other guilty parties in mind, like Jefferey Bamber in the UK and OJ Simpson, the McCann's behaviour doesn't fit in with that of people who'd kill their daughter deliberately. Blood in car? There's probably blood in everyone's car unless it is new. We're talking tiny traces here. Police making wild accusations to their faces? All cops do that. It's what cops do, to see the reaction they get. All in all I believe they are probably innocent.
Under law they are innocent until proven guilty beyond all reasonable doubt, of course.

I don't know if they're innoncent or guilty.
People have been sent to the electric chair due to unfair trials.
In this case, the British public is casting stones without a full trial.
The general public should not judge as they do not have all of the facts. Nor is it their job to do so.
@redwhiteandblue : it is just that, a piece of evidence. There is also the possibility that they have been framed.
Let the judicial system do their work.

Very suspicious......plus I may add doctors know how to take care of bodies and Kate Mccan say`s she dealt with dead bodies as a doctor and so does Gerry and they knowhow to treat a cadaver...no futher comment

Yes I do!!! I think they were framed because the portugese police screwed up so badly and they want to save face. Plus, in our local news last week a family went on holiday thirty miles away from where Maddy went missing and said this guy was following them and kept taking photos of their daughters, they phoned the police and they told them to ignore it! That isn't great detective work!

I'm not saying I think that they're innocent or guilty. I have no idea... I wasn't there. But in the interest of justice for that little girl, they can't be ruled out as suspects. I hope that they're innocent, but it wouldn't be the first time that something like this has happened, and the parents turned out to be guilty.
