While a mormon, I was taught that Eve opened the eyes of mankind when she ate the fruit, but still, men :-{) in the LDS church dominated women, how do you explain this when Eve opened the eye's of everyone?

My husband in not my boss and does not dominate me whatsoever. We do look at men as the head of the family, but that does not mean we look at them as more important than the woman. We beleive that men have a responsibility to their fmaily to be a good example and follow the teachings of Christ and lead their families in a good direction, but it's also the woman's repsonsibility too.

Alos, the websight you reference is from people who feel they were wronged by the church, most of them excommunicated for something they did, so I wouldn't take it seriously.

Your argument should be with Paul and the apostles of the church. LDS church isn't the only church that upholds Paul and the teachings of the Apostles on women. Your church does too I bet.

1st Timothy Chapter 2
9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10 But (which become women professing godliness) with good works.
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Of course it didn't happen that way. This was not a good thing when Eve partook of the forbidden fruit and we did not fall "up" as the LDS church says.

The link isn't working.

I might have a different view, being a man, but I've never witnessed any woman being dominated in church or in my home. My wife would laugh if someone said that I dominated her. I've always been taught to honor and respect women. I'm a door-opener kinda guy thanks to my parents.

In the New Testament it writes that the woman was deceived by the serpent. The man knew what he was doing. He disobeyed God.

The men do not DOMINATE the women in our church. Just because men have the priesthood, and do the running of the church business over all, does not mean domination.

D&C 121:34 Behold, there are many called, but few are chosen. And why are they not chosen?
35 Because their hearts are set so much upon the things of this world, and aspire to the honors of men, that they do not learn this one lesson—
36 That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.
37 That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man.
38 Behold, ere he is aware, he is left unto himself, to kick against the pricks, to persecute the saints, and to fight against God.
39 We have learned by sad experience that it is the nature and disposition of almost all men, as soon as they get a little authority, as they suppose, they will immediately begin to exercise unrighteous dominion.
40 Hence many are called, but few are chosen.
41 No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the priesthood, only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;
42 By kindness, and pure knowledge, which shall greatly enlarge the soul without hypocrisy, and without guile—
43 Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by the Holy Ghost; and then showing forth afterwards an increase of love toward him whom thou hast reproved, lest he esteem thee to be his enemy;
44 That he may know that thy faithfulness is stronger than the cords of death.

If any man in the church uses his priesthood authority unrighteously, his priesthood is pretty much null and void, as far as God is concerned.

Women have power men can only dream of. I was watching an interview by Dr. Phil of women who are living in a polygamous marriage (these are adult women who chose to live that way, not those child-marrying ones), and they said that one husband with more than one wife is pretty much at their mercy! Can you imagine Brigham Young living with all those wives, not to mention all those daughters, in the same house? If he exercised unrighteous dominion, can you imagine what a MUTINY he would have had? He did allow any of his wives who wanted to divorce him. And there were at least three that I know of. Most intelligent women (and I don't believe Brigham Young put up with anything less) know that there is power in numbers.

Personally, I myself don't know many women in the church who would WANT the priesthood. I believe God gave the priesthood to men to even things out.
