most states it is illegal to use fireworks throughout the year...other than the 4th of July. Some midwest states it is legal. Very few though.

The Michigan Complied Laws does not contain any provisions prohibiting firecrackers on any day of the year regardless of the 4th of July. However, under Chapter 91, section 1, part (1), subdivision (y), your city may pass ordinances regulating firecrackers within the city.

Additional Details:
I do not understand why it is that so many people insist on giving you wrong information, such as most states it is illegal, or it is illegal almost anywhere unless you're licensed and have a permit. When the fact is that most states are perfectly legal and you may do so in Michigan even without a permit.

The Michigan Department of Community Health reported that, “Consumer fireworks are legal for public sale in 36 states and the District of Columbia.” And the Michigan Attorney General stated, “In Michigan, certain fireworks are legal and the public may purchase them without a permit.” A “Helpful Hint” is “If it makes a loud bang or leaves the ground, it is illegal.” Please be aware that federal law bans firecrackers containing more than 50 milligrams of powder.

*/End of Line.

It depends on what's considered "firecrackers." In Michigan, anything that explodes or leaves the ground is illegal, period. However, anyone living in Michigan knows full well that the law is seldom enforced. It's virtually impossible to do so, especially around the 4th of July. Police tend to look the other way, since bursts and explosions are so abundant. Many so-called fireworks are available in Michigan, but they're along the lines of sparklers and things of that nature. And they can be used any time as far as I know.

Actually, there are laws prohibiting the discharge of fireworks even ON the 4th. Legal fireworks stands can sell them but that doesn't cover the person buying and using them. Most areas require a license/permit for discharging them.

That depends entirely on which state you live in. I am from Maryland. I have lived in California and North Carolina. It is illegal to use fireworks all year round. I assume you mean fireworks. Firecrackers ccould include sparklers and such. I do not think there are many laws on firecrackers.

This is usually a city issue. When I lived outside of city limits, I could shoot fireworks (or my gun) whenever I wanted. When you move into a city, they restrict these things, mostly due to safety concerns. If you want to know for sure, call your local police.

Most states laws prevent firecrakers every day of the year, and those that allow them like S. Carolina and Kentucky, allow them every day of the year.

Unless you're licensed in pyro-technics, and have a permit, you could be in violation almost anywhere.
