Some people say that vidoe games do help with that. Playing ping pong is another.

Juggle. Start with just one ball, then move to two. Don't worry about it looking good, move to 3 balls if you can, but if you can't don't sweat it. Just try it everyone once in while.
This should give you decent reaction time and hand eye coordination.
Try a batting cage, driving range, and throwing a football around.
Practicing most sports will help you out a lot.

Use the old "ball and cup" thing. It's an old game or something, but it's a tiny ball attached to a string, attached to a wooden cup. The ball barely fits into the cup. It dangles from the string, and you swing it up to try and get it into the cup. It takes a steady hand, and will help improve your hand/eye coordination.

Play sports that require it. Tennis, baseball, golf, basketball, catch with a ball, fishing, squash, hand ball, darts, bowling etc etc etc.
It is a skill that is improved with practice.
