What do you mean?
Why would you call someone a name? (a mean name?) Most people do this to be mean to someone or to make fun or make them feel small.
Telling the truth is telling the truth. You don't need to result to name calling. The delivery is what is important. HOW someone is told the truth makes a big difference.

A big part of the difference would be whether there was any need for you to talk about it in the first place. Are you trying to change a bad situation, or are you just venting? If you're venting (or worse, trying to hurt someone's feelings), it's name calling.

because a female human is not a walking barking female dog, so that one isn't truth.
What name are you thinking of? Calling people names would stem from a negative place, and I wouldn't trust anyone spitting out words in a rash of negative emotions.

Sometimes the truth hurts - Uncle Carl, you are a drunk!
But I think we should try to give our opinions in a way that tells the truth without hurting people's feelings unecessarily.
