okay, my dog had puppies 2 weeks ago... this morning ones eyes opened. later we took them to the breeders house{about 12:00] to get there tails and extra claw cut off, then about 12:37 we left & got home about 1:15.

when we got home the mother cleaned them, one puppy was fine, but the other one kinda got "light" and started breathe-ing slower and now its 1:48 and its still alive but weak......

is it going to live, or any suggestions?????

I would take them to a vets straight away!!
The pup is probably dying through pain and shock, why did you wait 2 weeks weeks before having this done? Its usually Done hours from birth when the tail e.t.c is very soft, and i suppose the pups had no anasthetic?? If you wanted the tails e.t.c removed you should of had it done at vets. Im sorry if you dont like my opinions but i find this very very cruel to have it done at 2 weeks old. Lets just hope the poor pup lives

Are there no organisations, who will help pay for the bills?? Where about do you live in us??

If your a 13 year old kid (who needs their mouth washed out with soap might i add) then your parents should take responcibillity of their pets, tell your parents to take the pup to the vet or it will die. Straightly said nothing else can help it.

First off, there's no need for that kind of language. It doesn't matter if you're a kid or not, there's no excuse for rude behavior like that. If you don't like what you are hearing, too bad...I'm not going to feel the least bit bad for you if you insist on swearing at people who are offering you advice.

Secondly, if you can't get the puppy to a vet, it will almost certainly die. Breeding dogs is EXPENSIVE! If you couldn't afford the $1500 for a c-section (emergency vet costs for most breeds but mandatory cost for some breeds like bulldogs) and then some for emergencies like this, not to mention the money to have the tails and dewclaws done by a VET (in most places it is illegal to have this done by anyone who is not a vet...at the very least two weeks is FAR too old to have this procedure done and it is quite likely that the pup is dying from blood loss and/or shock) then your family should not have bred the dog in the first place.

13 and a foul mouth!
When you post a question like this what do you expect?

You had those poor puppies dew claws and tails docked at 2 weeks of age!!
This should be down by the time they are 3 days of age, your breeder and vet should be strung up for allowing you to it!

I'd almost guarantee that the pup is in shock!
If you're lucky it may pull through, if not it dies.
As you have so quick to tell people that you've spend money on a C section then those are your choices.
Keep the pup warm and hydrated that's the best you can do without the help of a decent vet, I sincerely hope you've learnt a lesson from this.

You and this "breeder" are morons. Tails and dewclaws are done at 3-5 DAYS...not 2 weeks. Maybe the pup is dying from SHOCK. Anyone that would do them at two weeks is clueless, so I am sure the job was pretty crappy.

Suck it up and go to the vet. Then spay and neuter (the dogs and yourself) so you don't make more of ANYTHING!!!

Jeez...there should be a vaccine for stupidity.

I had to come back AGAIN and tell you how freaking retarded you are. Too bad someone cannot report you to for animals cruelty. You deserve a little time in jail. What a freaking moron you are!!!!!

Clearly, you live in StupidTown, where the vets are as dumb as you are. No real vet would say to go and dock tails on two week olds. Idiot.

I would take them to the VET not a breeder's house

also aren't you supposed to dock tails within a few days of birth?

edit - if you don't have the money to take care of your dog when it gets sick then you don't have any business having one let alone breeding it

edit - if the vet said it was okay you need a different vet - they should know that tail docking and dew claw removal is supposed to happen within days of birth and again not having money is NOT an excuse for not taking care of your dog - most vets will do a payment plan and there are ways to get money to pay for vet bills.

youre a kid with a very bad mouth, if i were your mother id wash it out with dish soap for you. first off you have no business breeding your dog, simple as that, you dont know enough about it and you obviously cant afford it, your puppy is probably in shock and going to die from cutting its tail and dew claws off at 2 weeks old at the BREEDERS ???do all dogs a favor and find homes for these and dont get anymore until youve grown and know a little more. and go back to school and pay attention, you're barely literate, a 13 year old should be able to express his/her self better then this.

Two weeks old is too old to be getting tails docked and dewclaws removed. This MUST be done by the time pups are 3 days old NO later!!
It also should NEVER be done by anyone other then a licensed vet!!!

In all likelihood yes you will loose this puppy and it will be because of negligence and improper surgical procedure done by an unlicensed unqualified person.

If you have no money to have procedures done properly by a vet then you have absolutely no business breeding!!!

It may have been stressed to much and in shock this stuff you did should have been done within the first few days not wait so long to do.
How was it done did the pup loose a lot of blood???
Get the pup to the vets immediately

Take it to a vet now. Call and let them know about the situation and they'll let you come in as an emergency. Don't just walk in or the wait might be longer, but don't wait to call.

the only thing you can do is take it to the vet or have it possibly die. if you don't have the money for puppies you shouldn't have them anyway so that is not a reason not to take them to the vet.
