Peoples from all over the world allow their religion to dictate how they live their lives based on word of mouth in the so called Scriptures. Yet if we are to believe that religion is just a state of mind, why can't the great minds of this world stop and prevent all the various wars and terrorism. We all have the ability to discipline our minds into making this a better world to live in so what part does religion have to play, if any?

To Coffee-pot 12, I do not have a problem with right and wrong or with authority, Like a lot of people today I fear that religion is and has been the cause of a lot of the troubles that are with us and think we have all been somewhat 'conned' into believing that there ever was such a person as Jesus. Coincidently do you find it strange how most of the religious wars are in the Middle East, the so-called home of where it all began. For various peoples to live their lives based on hearsay evidence and stories, rumours which as we all know can be exaggerrated seems quite sad really. I'm not for a minute saying that there was not such a man called Jesus, but to elevate him into someone other than us mere mortals is like asking us and expecting us to believe in 'fairies'.
