I need to find a corset/bodyshaper type undergarment to wear at my wedding. I'd like it to be similar to a leotard (no legs on it). I'd prefer nude color, since my gown is ivory and my reception dress is white (and the reception dress is thin enough that white lacy stuff would show through). It needs to have good upward lift and support for the chest (my main reason for getting one) but also slim the pudge in the stomach. And..to throw something else in the mix..my gown has a low back, where the zipper stops is sort of a V shape. So, good chest support, nude color, strapless, and as low of a back as possible. Any good websites to look at? I will go to some local stores this week and look as well. I am normally about a 36C size but I've been told for a corset, a 38B might work better since I have a stomach on me and just need more lift in the chest. Thanks for your help!

I've never had good luck with the one piece foundation numbers. By the time they fit on the bottom they didn't fit through the bust. Not to mention they're expensive as all get out.

What I'd look for is one of 2 things. Either find a good longline bra (any specialty lingerie store should have a good selection) with a controlling panty, OR a good regular bra with some of those SPANX higher power panties. Personally, I'd go with a well fitting bra and the SPANX. Those things are wonderful. The Higher Power panties come up to right under my bustline, yet are much more comfortable than a longline bra.

Whatever you do, make sure it fits well. I wouldn't order something like this off the internet, because you really need to try it on. If there's a Nordstrom's by you, they have great bra fitters there. Also ask at the bridal store if they have any reccommendations of where to shop for this--I guarantee they know where to send you.

Good luck!

For my wedding I gave out Lucky Bamboo... I placed two Bamboo stalks together in a cellophane type bag (covering no more than half of the stalks), tied it together with ribbon (color of the wedding) along with a little card with our name and wedding date. The tricky thing about this favor is that it would need to be done no more than a couple days before the wedding. However, if you have enough help it is a great wedding favor. I still have mine from the wedding and so do some of the guests from the wedding... This is over 5 years ago too :).

Goddess makes the best strapless bras. I would not go with a wrong size and I would go for a bra fitting. Your size can change everytime you buy a new bra. I would get a slimming panty hose or brief instead of trying to get it all in one undergarment. Usually those one piece foundations don't have enough lift.

Hi Mel,
I would suggest getting a strapless bra that fits your needs and then going with a slimmer for the waist and thighs.

Legs makes a pantyhose type slimmer, you can find it near the panty hose and they are cheap and they work!!

Here are some sites that may help you find the right type of bra, but you may want to check with the bridal shop they may have one there and you can try it on with your dress.

Flexees makes some really comfortable shapers in a variety of styles. Many department stores carry them.

My sister is a bridesmaid in my wedding and she couldn't find a corset that would match her style. But we looked in Macy's dept.store and she was pretty comfortable with what she found. I would try there to start with.

I think a corsetierre shop would be your best bet. They may have to make something for you. Try spanx.com and personaltouchlingerie.com.

that's a lot to ask in a shaper. go to a bridal store. you might pay a lot for it. is there a way to have one built into the dress? that's what i had in mine.
