I've flown on 9/11 for the last 3 years and am flying again on this 9/11. Nothing to worry about. Allow extra time for security and especially somewhere like JFK, be prepared for stupid reporters to be in the way trying to get interviews. Also be prepared for all the doom-criers and kooks to be predicting massive terror attacks and planes falling from the sky. Once you get past the security line, it's just another normal travel day.
Although if she is flying at night, she might get a very nice view of the lights from Ground Zero depending on the flight path. Last year I landed at National Airport (DC) shortly after dark and the memorial lights from the Pentagon were beautiful, touching, and very emotional.

Hey,
Im in business I am on an airplane 3-4 times every week. For the last three years I have flown on 9/11 Twice from Boston once from JFK. Security is stricter. I felt nervous my first time but I feel much better now and even safer. JFK is a very secure airport and she will be fine. Im flying out of PHL that day and Im 100% fine.
Again dont worry JFK flights also have air marshals on them.
If your still not sure check this article out.

The security will be tighter than a drum in the USA that day, so I am sure she will be safe! She may spend a lot of time in queues but that is pretty normal in US airports. I am flying that day and I am not giving it a second thought. So you are right she will be safer on 9/11 than probably anyother day..

Security is so uber tight these days and since it is the anniversary of 9/11, I'm pretty sure it might be stricter. For these reasons, I doubt anyone would plan anything bad on that day, it wouldn't be a suprise if they did. I think its one of the safest days to fly, actually.

Well Bush is flagging in the polls, British troops are being pulled out of Basra, a new bin laden video is set to make an appearance. The conspiracy theorist would say "WATCH OUT. Something will happen pretty soon. Bush needs his Goldstein and his 2 minute hate." I'm sure she'll be just fine

I remember thinking it substitute right into a repeat of the 1993 bombing, and that it could be enormous information for some weeks and then disappear. Then I observed the information and went "ohhhh boy, it is undesirable." I additionally remember laying on a carpet downstairs in my basement, watching the information, seeing a guy bounce off the WTC and feeling fairly undesirable. Then a commercial got here on and that they performed the track "the type you look this night." I virtually began crying using fact it appeared like a cruel reminder of a happier time which could in no way come back. yet, existence nevertheless went on.

there is absolutely no need to worry, she will be fine, the attack on america happened 7 years ago. there is only a stigma attached to that day...the year after 9/11 we went to florida and we were all really worried, and were still all here! No need to be any more scared than any normal mother would be.
