I'm just curious. Why do you look at youpup.com and see puppymill but when everyone tells you that NO responsible breeder would breed mixed breed dogs and we tell you that they are either backyard breeders or puppymills you don't believe anyone and threaten to report them?
No responsible breeder would intentionally breed mixed breed dogs. People that breed mixed breed dogs don't perform genetic or health tests on the parents - many of them assume that mixed breeds are naturally more healthy (not the case since if both parents carry receissive genetic traits, that can be passed onto their offspring nad then the offspring has terrible genetics!). Many of them do not give any health guarantees at all, one breeder of mixed breed dogs gives a SEVENTY TWO hour health guarantee!! What kind of guarantee is that??!!). The best place to find mixed breed dogs is your local shelter. Someone probably adopted it for their son who is allergic to dogs (many breeders claim that anything with poo in it - since it's part poodle - will therefore be good with people with allergies). Or, once it grew up it wasn't cute anymore. Don't support anyone who breeds mixed dogs - they are irresponsible breeders.

I got my cockapoo from this breeder... I think her name might have been Holly, but I don't remember.
I had a terrible experience! She said that her dogs didn't shed, but my kids had terrible allergies!
She said that a cockapoo had "hybrid vigor" but then my puppy ended up getting problems my vet said were associated with BOTH breeds! He had hypothyroidism and then got diabetes! It was terrible.
I tried to call up the breeder and tell her but she said she couldn't do anything for me.
Since that terrible experience, I've looked into it a little bit more. If you get a cockapoo from a breeder, make sure that the breeder tests for health problems in both parents! It's different for both breeds so check with someone knowledgeable to be sure that the breeder tests for all problems so nothing bad is being passed to your pet.
Also, make sure she has a guarantee. Guarantees for "one year" aren't worth anything. Most genetic problems don't pop up in the puppy until after 1 year old.
I also heard that good breeders will take the dog back--no matter what--for the lifetime of the puppy. This ensures that they aren't contributing to pet overpopulation problems.
I haven't got any cockapoos since that bad experience, so I can't recommend any breeders. All I can do is recommend you NOT buy from Holly... or whatever her name was. Something like that!
Good luck!

Um, referencing your comment about mutts and purebred Rotties -- a cockapoo IS a mutt silly ! !
The first dog I fostered for a rescue was a cockapoo mutt and he was nasty as **** but (like any dog, purebred or mutt) they're all different. There are some great ones in rescues too!
Anyways, check out http://www.petfinder.com and click on poodles who are in rescues in your area (petfinder.com only lists purebred dogs as the primary breed -- mutts like cockapoos would likely be listed as a poodle x)
Good luck with your search.

It already been said by so many here. The only people who breed these mixes are back yard breeders and puppy mills.
None of wich will back up their pups are help when something goes terribly wrong Like Danzi has said.
No matter who you get a mixed pup from their will be problems with the pup.

since a cockapoo isn't a true breed (mix between a cocker spaniel and a poodle) usually they don't have breeders that specialize in them since you get less money for puppies that aren't AKC certified. Sometimes pet stores try to sell them for outrageous prices, but I suggest checking out the dogs with rescue groups and shelters. http://www.petfinder.com is a great place to start.
Note: that yourpup.com site is nauseating. Using puppy mill puppies to advertise Campbell's soup...

why dont you have a look round the rescue round near you
u might find your perfect dog there
save a dogs life.
the breeder who want a lot for mixed breeds are wrong to do so.
if they are asking for an adoption fee then yeah go for it but a cockpoo is not a pure breed dog and you shouldnt pay a fortune for it
good luck in your search

cockapoo is a fancy name for a mutt - go to a shelter or rescue group to find one - if you find a breeder selling those run away because a reputable breeder wouldn't intentionally breed these 2 dogs

Thanks, but when you asked a question, you ASKED for answers. Nobody is "spamming" you by telling you the truth. If you want a mutt, go to the shelter. Don't support the PUPPYMILLS, yes, puppymills, that breed mutts-because you won't find a responsible mutt breeder.
Believer is spot-on with her answer.
