Hey guys, for those of you that are not familar with my answers to other peoples questions. I always pride myself on giving accurate fact based answers supported by reference instead of opinion based answers supported by B.S. I posted this question to mock the person who posted the question below mine that is "why do fords have a reputation for being troublesome" I do think chevy's have a reputation for having the worst reliability, nor would I normally ask or answer a question based on "reputation"

Brian hit the nail on the head. The WORST made car ever was the AUDI 100 LS! Read or do your research, that car had the most problems of any car ever sold in America. But lets not forget the Ford Pinto, Kia, Yugo, Suzuki and the worst of the Japanese, Nissan, I mean Datsun! So bad of a reputation that they actually had to change the name of the company!

I owned a firebird v6 :( floored it everyday. There were no problems besides a terrible 10mpg city. To me, all american cars are similar in reliability. Chevy's (pontiac's) are great cars. I would buy a trans am but too hard to find one for a descent price, mileage and a six spd. I guess will have to settle with a good ol' fashioned Ford Mustang gt.

Its much more reputation than fact.

Every manufacturer makes a few turd models.

If everywhere you go includes Japanese model forums, Consumer Reports or people that love rice rockets, then yes that is what you are going to hear. If you frequent American model forums, you are going to hear just the opposite.

I would also challenge to find a well-cared Corvette for that price. 'Vettes' of that era sell for roughly 3 times that amount.

BTW, before Brian runs and tells us again how superior Japanese models are Geo is a rebadged Suzuki.

I gotta waste my time to say Brian is an idiot. Cadillac.(I spelled it right) is a General Motors Car.

As for your question...You said "reputation" which does not mean "fact". I have 350,000 miles on my Ford work truck and never fixed anything that wasn't regular maintenance such as brakes...etc.
If you have a Hyundai thing....try to find parts for it for regular maintenance...Ya gotta go back to the dealer and they will order them via Korean donkey train or something.
It's reputation not based on fact. I'd like to find a clean maintained Corvette that devalued in price...I'd buy the sucker in a second. Don't listen to liberals.

It's true. Even the chevy corvette is junk. If you had a corvette from around 1984, it'll be worth less than $5,000. Most American cars are horribly made. The same with ford, and korean vehicles like kia and hyundai. Geo is even worse. Get a toyota, honda, mercedes, audi, caddilac, acura, lexus, BMW, Nissan, porsche, volkswagen.

Don't flatter yourself - chevy is just as bad as ford, chrysler, and most others. There are two truly different brands - Toyota and Honda, and honda's quality has been nosediving over the last four or five years but they still are beautiful.
