I have a band contest and my allergies are getting so bad, I can barely breathe when I eat. I'm taking Zyrtec allergy pills, I've also taken some cough/decongestant medicine and practically inhaled a tub of vaporub. I cannot go out and buy any sprays etc, so I need some home remedy type things. Thanks!

My allergies have been rough lately also. Try blowing your nose, each nostiril separately to avoid possible eardrum damage. Using a Vicks Inhaler, found at a grocery store or pharmacy, can help you. It's in a little red, white, and dark green plastic tube.

I do this for myself and for my son. We have the baby Vicks stuff, which has lavender and a bunch of other stuff in it. I put some in the sink and let hot water run over it. The Vicks vapors and the steam fill the bathroom. i just sit in the steam and breathe. When my son is sick, we just play with blocks in the bathroom!!! It really helps. I suppose the same thing would work with regular Vicks. I hope you feel better!!!

Get salene spray. Its a salt water spray thing that you can get in walgreens. You stick it up your nose and squeeze the bottle. Let it sit a while(we're talking 20 seconds, not minutes), then blow your nose. It thins out the snot and makes it come out.
