What happens in the brain when someone is obsessed? Does it serve any practical purpose or is it just chemical mis-firings?

In some cases, some people are emotionally not able to take rejection..and thus, it turns into obession, if you are talking about relationships..anything that we hang onto, that is abnormal,..can be either chemical imbalance, but usually, it is something from out past

hi mjb...far as i can tell..each obsession is treated differantly
...someone obsessed with sex and someone obsessed
with chocolate are going to have differant feelings about those obsessions...myself i'll breath heavy on both accounts...only thing is..some obsessions can be safe..some
can cause harm to both parties..hope this helped

My son is autistic.Many autistic people have obsessive compulsive behavior.I believe that parasite infestation and or lymes disease plays a role.Also he has depth perception problems and hypersensitive hearing.google search lyme and rife machines.
