Don't you believe and know that God who loves us knew before hand, that is why he ordained that sex be experienced within the union of a loving marriage?

Was "free love" really free?

High price tag = divorce, sexual abuse, STDs, AIDS, adultery, disappearing dads, abortion, infertility, etc.

This is what I have heard of one man saying about his wife; He said, "I can only speak for myself, but when I chose my wife from all the women of the world, it was not a democratic, equal, vague sort of love for every woman on the planet. It was instead an exclusive, selective, sacrificial love that set her apart from all other women. That is the sort of love that sent Christ to the cross. The sort of love that brought atonement. The love He had for His elect".

Jesus description of the marriage of one man and one woman is parallel to His love for His church.

All sexual involvement outside of marriage, will eventually cause those who are involved sorrow and always has a ripple effect. Even if it takes years. because it is against what God has told us to do for our benefit.

I made the mistake of having sex before marriage and looking back wish I had waited. I feel I gave away pieces of myself and in a sense cheated my husband.

We actually became pregnant before we got married, and though I wouldn't change anything because I love my son, we did feel we should have waited. That was 5 years ago and we couldn't be happier together. We have given our precious son a sister since then, but it doesn't always work out that way. We were lucky that we were in love and wanted to be married.

Some girls get pregnant and left, or have abortions, some (both male & female...some guys do step up!) struggle while they raise children on their own. Everyday people contract diseases. I'm sure this was NOT what God intended when he created sex. It was to be an act of pure love between a husband & wife. It's too bad we, as humans, messed it up and created consequenses that never should have been.

So every time I had sex out of marriage, I propagated an STD, I was committing adultery, I fathered children, I had an abortion and now I'm infertile? What a bunch of nonsense. Yes these things can happen. You can also get hit by a car crossing the street.

Sex outside of marriage is exclusively the decision of those involved. anyone else should MTOB.

AIDS, STD's, disappearing dads, abortion and infertility all happen within the bounds of marriage too.

Why is marriage such an important standard. Times have changed, lifestyles have changed, marriage is no longer necessary for survival of the family as it was at one time. If marriage prevents all these supposed evils then there is no need for divorce, but the last time I looked divorce among so called christians was pretty high.

I believe it is a very high price. If all were faithful, and only had sex in marriage, then most of the problems you list would no longer be problems.

Well I think you should try to marry the right person, and care about someone and not just use them for sex especially if you are still married. Wow all this talk about sex is there any chance of our avatars getting it on.

Seems pretty obvious if you haven't been blinded by unbelief.

[edit] No, David, you didn't do all of that. But you DID roll the dice and take the chance of dealing with all of that.

How exactly do you get AIDS and other STD's within the bounds of marriage...?

Who says you have to get married to share your life with someone? Marriage is nothing more than a sheet of paper. so yea sex outside of marriage is just fine when it's with someone you truly care about. It does not mean being promiscuous and irresponsible.

and last time i checked you can't get divorced if you were never married...care to explain that one?
