As you become closer and closer to G-D you become less and less carnal in nature and more spiritual in nature, but if you feel the urge to masturbate it is not a deal breaker with
G-D. That is another reason for marriage and what the marriage bed was designed for. G-D has given us all the will for self control, but if you fail I am sure he will forgive, he knows it would be hard for you to completely stop, after all it is a natural human desire.

Wow. Is that really in the Bible somewhere? Oh please, can someone tell me what book? Which chapter? What verse? Cause if that's the case... I am so going to hell *evil smiles* Cause I can't stop. I don't want to stop. Do I have to stop?

I am not having premarital sex. I am not sleeping with my brother. I am not sleeping with someone of the same sex (ok, well, that's not true *evil grin* I am a lesbian. But when it's just me in my bed I'm not sleeping with her... maybe thinking about her.)

Ah well... I guess it doesn't matter. I am forgiven either way. I have one hand raised to heaven and the other down my pants.

First of all, I'm not taking a position on whether or not to do it.

But, why do so many people want to focus on the "small stuff" and call this or that a sin...and why do so many non-Christians want to present issues like this seemingly thinking that it's a "make or break" critical issue?

Why not focus on what's really important? Why not discuss the REAL issues?

Seriously. What's more important: endless "discussion" of masturbation...or...the salvation of your eternal soul?

How does anybody stop doing anything? They just don't do it.

This is a pointless question the sole purpose of which is to insult Christians and stir up arguments.

You should be ashamed.

Its not about picking and choosing, its a natural thing to masturbate for men and women. Very stupid question, try going back to school

The fact that they feel they have to stop just shows how little their religion understands about basic human drives and needs.
And, John d, isn't there something in the Bible about not spilling your seed? The word "masturbate" may not be in there, but I'm pretty sure it's made clear that you're not supposed to do it.
Common sense: that's a cop-out answer. People have been condemned or killed because they disagree with the "small stuff" in the bible like homosexuality, whom to worship and on what day, etc.

I'm sorry, what commandment does masturbating break?

I guess I must have missed that one in the 8 or 10 times I have read the Bible.

Or is that one of those commandments that people make up and say Christians have to obey for some unGodly reason.

Mark 7:7
Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
