I'm a Christian and would dare say, that even, within Christianity - it has a bloody history of Jesus Christ being savagely beaten and then, suffering a slow, death on the cross. This illustrates the tendency within "human nature" to force one's way on others - even, resorting to violence. Is not the history of the human realm been filled with wars, crime, a violence in general. Violence is the end result of humans attempting to have their ways with others, who present opposition to him or her. When done in the name of God or Allah - it is a direct violation of God's or Allah's command: "You shall love your neighbour as YOURSELF" !
So; for any human to point the finger at any other race or belief is very, self-righteous and is not the ideal God or Allah had in mind for His human creation !!! Violence is the work of demons and Satan and is in the opposite direction of God's or Allah's way of LOVE.

all history is full of violence, so why should Islamic history be any different? Every religion has a history of violence - big or small - Islam, Judaism, Christianity (especially - just as if not more violent than Islam), Hinduism, Buddhism, etc...

History of any period is full of violence. Have you forgotten nuclear bombs hurled on Japan by the most advanced nation so recenly? Bombing of Vietnam, Cambodia, Afghanistan, Iraq and killing so many innocent civilians is not violence!!! Two World Wars are not even a century old matter. Is it in any way related to Islamic history? Instead of spreading hatred amongst mankind with such questions, ask such questions whose answers with spread love and friendship and make the world a better place to live in.

All human history is full of violence. Its not just the Islamic History. Besides there are positive things to focus on history as well. The technological developments etc. If you look through history, the most developments that have occured in the world have occured in non-violent times/ nations.

What cities are you comparing Dearborn to? i think of that's unhappy which you think of violence is the baseline, and non violent Dearborn is an aberration. Why is there no longer lots of violence? using fact the persons of Dearborn oftentimes act like adults and are first rate human beings. heavily, which could no longer be surprising. there is actual no clarification why Muslims and non-Muslims can not stay in close proximity to one yet another. there have been fairly growing to be pains. i substitute into attending college there while they began busing east area scholars (regularly Muslim) to west area faculties using fact of east-area crowding, and there substitute into some friction, yet we've been young ones. babies continually have friction. And that friction progressively dwindled 365 days after 365 days as the two sides purely have been given to correctly known one yet another and understand neither area ate babies or refused to bathe or despite loopy innovations one area had approximately the different.

As Jason Statham in "War" (2007) said, "If you want peace, get ready for War". As Islam (means submittal to God) is the only true right path that remains now, it has to fight the rest of non-muslim world to either convert evil to good (& eliminate them, if they refuse to convert). However, it's the Muslims' duty to educate others & offer them to convert. If they don't fulfill this duty, then violence is not allowed unless it's used for Self-Defense (& that is what Jihad is). Plz. do more independent Research next time before publicly criticizing God's Religion. As Prophet Jesus said, "... know the truth, and the truth shall set you free". Here are some great sites:

Because Muhammed was a warrior before he became a prophet in 610 AD. By 623 AD he was waging war again at the Battle of Badr.

The Qur'an is full of violent passages, at least 300.

The prophet was a warrior and many parts of Qur'an call for violence,

Thankfully, most Muslims are peaceful.

Qu'ran approves of terrorism
sura 2:193 Fight the infidels until they accept Islam.

sura 2:191 And slay them (unbelievers) wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter;

sura 9:73 Be harsh with the unbelievers.

sura 22:19 Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water; melt their skin and bellies.

sura 25:52 Fight the unbelievers vigorously without any exception.

Which history are you talking about ?

Here is some, for you............

"History makes it clear, however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of sword upon conquered races, is one of the most fantastically ABSURD MYTHS that historians have ever repeated."--[Islam At the Crossroads by De Lacy o'Leary,1923]

".........I became more than ever convinced that it was NOT THE SWORD that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. IT WAS THE RIGID SIMPLICITY, the utter self-affacement of the Prophet, the scrupulous regard for pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his interpidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. THESE AND NOT THE SWORD carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. -- [Mahatma Gandhi in his article published in 'YOUNG INDIA' in 1924]

" It is altogether a misconception that the Arabian progress was due to the 'sword' alone.THE SWORD MAY CHANGE AN ACKNOWLEDGED NATIONAL CREED, BUT IT CAN NOT EFFECT THE CONSCIENCES OF MEN."--[ [The Historic Role of Islam, by M.N.Roy,pg-49,Vora & Co.8 Round Building, Bombay-2]

" If any religion had the chance of rulling over England, nay Europe within thenext hundreds years, IT COULD BE ISLAM............I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself APPEAL TO EVERY AGE.--[The Genuine Islam by Sir George Bernard Shaw, Vol-I,no-8-1036]

" He himself [the prophet] gave letters of security and protection to the JEWS and Christians in Arabia and never used any violence to them upon the account of religion."--[ An Account of The Rise And Progress of Mahometanism with the life of Mahomet- by HENRY STUBBE, M.A. of Christ Church- Oxford, From a manuscript copied by Charles Hornby of Pipe office in 1705, London,Luzac & Co. 1911,
pg- 142-143]

" No other religion in history spread so rapidly as Islam. The West has widely believed that this surge of religion was made possible by the sword. But no modern scholar accepts this idea, and the Quran is explicit in the support of the FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE."--James Michener in his article,"Islam: The misunderstood religion", Reader's Digest,May-1955,p-68-70]

The famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book "Heroes and Hero worship", refers to this misconception about the spread of Islam: "The sword indeed, but where will you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of one. In one man's head alone. There it dwells as yet. One man alone of the whole world believes it, there is one man against all men. That he takes a sword and try to propagate with that, will do little for him. You must get your sword! On the whole, a thing will propagate itself as it can."

May be the history which you are talking about was written and alterred by the hatemongers who are the mother of all violence on earth.
