I am fourteen years old and no matter what position I sleep in I wake up with back pain, and it bothers me throughout the night. I've tried sleeping on my side (that makes it the worst), my tummy, by back, but no luck! Does any one have some advice? Thanks :)

By the way, obe I get up and move around for a while the pain fades away so the major problem is it's making it hard to sleep.

Sorry, I'm not overweight. I'm 110-ish actully.

Try getting a new bed. The one you have is probably too soft, and cannot properly support your back. Also posture is very important. Sit up straight and don't slouch even though it's cool to slouch. It will mess u up in the end.

Try sleeping on the floor on your back with a pillow under your knees. The pillow takes some of the stress off of your lower back. Also try a lying on a heating pad for an hour with your knees supported by a pillow. if you feel better, then u will know it's your bed.

I'm assuming you haven't had a back injury, since you didn't mention one. Have you been checked for scoliosis? I have scoliosis and have had chronic back pain my whole life. I have found that a softer bed (rather than a harder bed, which most people recommend for back pain) has helped me some, but I still wake up with back pain every day. You are still very young, so I recommend you get screened for scoliosis, because you can keep it from getting worse if you catch it while you're young.

I had the same problems and bought an expensive bed that was softer and it stopped instantly.
Normally if you sleep on your stomach, it can hurt your shoulders. If you sleep on back, it can make it sore.
To help back pain, sometimes you must allign your hips by walking and putting body weight on your heels.
If you walk too much on the toes, it puts the hips out of allignment and brings on back pain.

probably isn't your bed, are you overweight? the way the belly pulls on the back can often cause back pain.
perhaps you need to see a chiropractor to assess whether or not you have scoliosis. Basically, you need to enlist your mom's help and find out why your back hurts before anyone can help you get rid of the hurt.

Have your mother take you to see aq doctor of chiropractic and find out what the problem is, then have it taken care of. At your age, the response should be very rapid.
