When I was about 4, our dog ran away from home. I prayed that she would come back. She did, but with a (used) diaper from someone's trash as a gift for us.
What was God trying to say, TTC?

I pray to God all the time, and I don't exactly remember my first prayer but I'll tell you something, I never obviously got a solid answer that was audible, lol. As I grew up, I learned to trust my instincts and decide that God's answers must be the mental clarity and serenity that I get + a sense of increased knowledge about something in the form of a gut instinct.
Though, I honestly don't know if that's God to credit of human psychology.
However, I won't discredit God as I am a believer, but I have to say, I have more experiences with bad people and bad things happen to me, than good things.
Although the good exists as well.
Tell me something, how does God answer you?
I'm sure it's not audible.

My only prayer to God happened on March 14, 1995 after a traumatic incident in my life that ended the lives of many. I was only 5 at the time.
His response: The entire community labeled me as an outcast and never associated with me ever again.

I don't remember my first prayer. I am sure I got whatever I prayed for, except I don't know if god actually played a hand.

Yes but my God is not a magic-wand or cosmic-genie who grants personal wishes outside of His Will.
Not only have I had God directly answer me, but He also knows before I ask what is on my mind and sometimes deals with it even though I don't say a word.

I was taught to pray .
Now I lay me down to sleep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the lord my soul to take.
I said this out of parents Tradition .
I grew up and thought No God ever answered or appeared .
So I put away my childish things , believing and praying was two of them .

The first prayer that I can remember was..."God, please make war go away" and I'm STILL waiting for that to be answered...even though I don't technically believe in him...

Yes but then I realized it was a scam to make $$$$. He has yet to answer any of my prayers but since he doesn't exist I better give it up! I am an adult I need to stop believing in fairy tales.
