My vision? How about we start by NOT using American dollars to pay for the reconstruction? How about we let the Iraqi government handle it's own police matters?

We should be there as a peacekeeping force ONLY. If this means that the government we installed is voted out, and a hostile government takes over, so be it. We shouldn't dictate a country's politics. They should be free to choose whatever kind of government they want.

$275 million a day we spend on this war. And now, we don't even get a report.

In the latest twist to the ongoing saga over the Petraeus White House report, a senior military official tells the Washington Times today that there will actually be no report at all:

A senior military officer said there will be no written presentation to the president on security and stability in Iraq. “There is no report. It is an assessment provided by them by testimony,” the officer said.

The only hard copy will be Gen. Petraeus’ opening statement to Congress, scheduled for Monday, along with any charts he will use in explaining the results of the troop surge in Baghdad over the past several months

What CEO would spend that kind of money and not demand a report?

Do be honest I have given up trying to figure out anything about Iraq. I have read, listened, watched info on Iraq. Have heard so many "experts" give contradicting opinions that I don't know what to believe. "I am so confused" so I'll just let it go. (right now on Fox two people went to Iraq together and they are both giving different views).

I do know that this war is too politicized. Too many politicians who don't know anything about military matters giving advice or coming to conclusions.

I just wonder if the people of the US have the willingness to do anything unless it serves their personal agenda.

I get so messed up in my brain about this war I can't even think straight enough to give a decent comprehensive answer.

Anybody else feel this way?

You can't leave at this point. Vietnam is a perfect example of what would happen if we just got up and left. I think we may always be in Iraq, much like South Korea, if the corrupt Iraqi government doesn't step up to take it's load.

Vision? Leave the country and leave it alone. Leave maybe a few soldiers there just for a precaution.

My vision is not as important as that of the United States as a whole.

I am a patriot. I know what democracy is and support it.

When I vote, I KNOW my chosen initiatives and choice of representatives might not win.

When it's over, they ARE my initiatives and representatives. I make it work, regardless. I support the democracy of our voting system.

I don't yell, "Cheating!" without clear proof.
I don't say, "They aren't MY representative!" (translate: I didn't get the race car, so I'M not PLAYING!)

I don't throw a fit and quit.

I am a patriot. Second to that, I am a democrat.

I will not be leaving my party or my country.
We WILL leave Iraq. That is our goal. That is wwhat we have always done and always will do. We will defend ourselves, then leave, giving the conquered every chance to find their own path as long as they no longer attack us.

Our goals are many and complex. The simplifications you're going to get as answers aren't even going to come close to the realities.

america's original idea was to 'help' Iraqi's out of the oppressive government they were under, then in return they would be rewarded with oil and other benefits from the new american/iraqi government.
