Would it be obvious?

I know most places do it, I'm just wondering, if it hadn't been cleaned in a few days or soemthing, wouldn't it be noticeable?

Well, the tube would be filled with ink (dry) prior to even starting on you. The big thing is that would be more obvious is that the needle wouldn't fit in the tube correctly. The ink builds up inside the tube as it drys cause the machine to malfunction. Most ppl clean their eqpt after each tat. because of this in addition to just being sanitary! Good luck:)

If a studio is not using disposable tubes, metal tubes can only be used once and then cleaned and sterilized so in all cases, you will want to see them taken out of a peel pouch or sterilization bag or some sort.

If a tattoo studio is processing equipment properly, you will not likely be seeing an autoclave around. These have to be kept separate from the work area.

Another thing to look for is an autoclave (it's a big metal machine that basically cooks the tools clean) and when they start on you, make sure they are pulling each piece they are going to use from a bag (like a doctor would have if he were going to operate on you). It is usually a clear front and a white back, that you pull open from the top. You will know it when you see it.

Any reputable shop uses disposable tubes and use a new one with every client.
