Walmart. A good one will be about 200 dollars.

If you're going to buy a 35mm film camera, you might as well get an autofocus 35mm SLR.
I know other people will suggest a bunch of manual focus SLRs like the Pentax K1000, Minolta SRT-, Canon AE-1, etc, but I feel you should get a camera that is compatible with the current SLR lenses being used, which are autofocus lenses.
Thus, I suggest sticking with those camera makers still making film SLRs: Nikon and Canon. You can also consider Pentax.
I really like the Nikon N80, which is available used, is very high quality in construction, and is just a good overall camera. You might also consider various Canon Rebel film SLRs, which are available both used and new. Pentax has a lot of used SLRs as well, although not as good in performance as the Nikon or Canon in my experience (having owned or used all of these cameras).
Places to look: eBay, Craigslist.org, KEH.com, and your local shops--used camera or pawn shops.

Look on Ebay.com, where you should find stackloads of perfectly good Classic 35mm cameras for peanuts 'cos of everyone switching over to digital cameras.
Some all time greats include the PENTAX ME 35mm SLR.... my Dad has one, seems quite good for it's age.... but the rotten old sod's never let me use it (but I don't care 'cos now I've got a Fuji S6500fd Digital camera that beats the hell out of it) + the ROLLEI 35.... which is styled like a pocket sized SLR camera (except you don't see what the lens sees, not what the viewfinder sees). My 2nd ever camera (after I took my Halina 110mm camera to bits when I was about 7 or 8yrs old) was my Mum's old Rollei B35 (until I broke that as well back around 1988).... but they are very good cameras (despite being 1960's / 1970's tech).

If those don't appeal, check out these Olympus ones:

After I managed to jam up the Rollei, I was given an Olympus AM-100 35mm compact for my birthday in 1988, and I still sometimes use it even after buying my first Digital compact last march. Though admittedly the rewind motor is so loud I once still managed to hear it when stood right next to 2 of the most powerful Monster trucks in Europe, with the engines running.

As a long-time Minolta user I'd suggest a Minolta SRT-202 with either a ROKKOR-X 50mm f1.4 or 1.7 lens. I've owned the SRT-202 since 1975 and had it serviced for the first time in Feb. of this year.
Check with KEH or B&H or Adorama or on ebay.

Take a look at Nikon N80. You'll be able to get a new one with some Sigma lenses for under $200 on eBay. Used ones will be much much cheaper.
