Isn't is enough to say I am going to the bathroom, I'll be right back. No one is interested in which bodily function will take place in there.

I would say that it is quite enough to just excuse oneself to the facilities without going into detail.

However, there are some people who like the shock value of telling others exactly what they have to do. Another possibility may be that some people's parents didn't inform them of the polite way to excuse themselves.

Well, I don't know but I have to say that I work with a woman who cannot go to the "restroom" without announcing it. I don't care if she has to go and then I don't want to know what she's doing in there. She has to tell it every time though. I guess they just think somebody cares.

I didn't know this was happening. I don't announce anything. I just go when needed. No one else needs to know that let alone why.
