War is hell. Loss of freedom is hell. We fail to defeat terrorism it will be hell.

Where were you when the world stopped turning on that September day?
Were you in the yard with your wife and children?
Or working on some stage in LA?
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor?
Or did you just sit down and cry?

Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know?
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below?

Did you burst out with pride
For the Red White and Blue
And the heroes who died just doing what they do?
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself and what really matters

Where the hell are you now?

No. I am not being callous. As a former Marine any war casualty hurts, but shocked no. Hell, we lost more troops in some single battles in WW2 and Korea. Those were shocking statistics!!!!

If we can keep our emotions out of this question think about how long we have been there then take a daily average of casualties. You do the math. Again, I am not trying to be callous but looking at this in a subjective manner. Obviously any death of an American, or anyone else, is tragic.

What I find more shocking is the number of people that are killed in automobile accidents every year and almost half caused by drunken drivers. Now, that is shocking.

One soldiers life is too much to lose...from stupidity. But we are dying for a cause that we must have believed in to have joined the military. I joined before 9-11 and have re enlistened twice since then. Do the numbers shock me...nope. I've seen my friends loaded into military aircrafts and sent home, I've been to the funerals in the States when they get back. Every military man and woman I consider to be my brother and sister, and when one dies, I hurt, especially a close friend, but we know what we're getting into when we sign the line, any of us could deploy. This is war, war is hell, the military is here to defend everybody elses way of life. I'll fight terorrism til the day I die, because I'd rather die fighting for what I love (my family, my country) than let some terrorist make me sit in fear waiting for them to come at us instead.

No, the numbers don't shock me. What shocks is the way you liberals love it every time an American fighting for freedom gets killed. Where is the list of dead terrorists?

That is pretty minial compared to most wars. We are actually making head-way in this war lately. Quit whining about body count and look at the whole picture.

Not really. Not when you take into consideration the number of Americans killed in past wars. Check out the link, just to see how many americans died fighting each other.

we deployed well over ( i dont know the exact number but...) 1 million personel, and only 3.6k died...thats not too bad when you look at how many ragheads are rotting in the sun dead.

1 u.s. death = 100 dead terrorist... or way more.
