Actually, for awhile, Buddha was listed among the Catholic saints, as "St. Josaphat," before the Church eventually figured out that "Josaphat" was actually a garbled pronunciation of "bodhisattva."
So ... if you are a saint for awhile, I'm guessing you get to hang out in heaven if you choose. Then again, Buddhists aren't all that focused on the heavens. They look to realize the Living Truth right here ... a.k.a. the kingdom of God spread out on the earth.

In Catholicism there exists the concept of "Invicible Ignorance". If a person genuinely sought God as best they understood Him (as Buddha did), and had absolutely NO opportunity to know the fullness of truth (which, living in India centuries before Christ, Buddha did not), then they have the possibility of going to Heaven. So, to answer your question, yes, it is ture that Catholics would say that God could accept Buddha into heaven.

Yes. But only if Buddha confessed to the fact that the God Yahweh is and always has been the One true God.

Yes... he would.
Catholism says that if a person is good and righteous according to their religion he can enter heaven...
Not as close to god as a catholic would but he would get to heaven.

Yes.
The Catholic Church believes that those who die never hearing of Christ but have sought the truth and does the will of God as they understand it can be saved. See Romans 2:13-16.
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1257-1261: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2.htm#art1
With love in Christ.
