It is legal in some States and not in others. There are also requirements that must be met in some areas, including sitting down in the bed and not on the bed rails. Some also require the vehicle not exceed 20 MPH while people are in the bed.

The legality of transporting people in the bed of a pickup truck varies from state to state. Check your state's DMV to find out.

The law varies from state to state. Check with your department of highway safety. In any event, it is a bad idea to have anyone in the back of a pickup truck. That is just death waiting to happen.

In many states, it's very illegal. Safety concerns, etc.
Try to envision, your truck bed with 5 or 6 of your best friends in the back, getting broadsided by a drunk-driver. Kids would be flyin' everywhere. So even if it's legal in your state, show your friends you really like them and don't do it.
