Christ said, "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and so teaches others, shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven" Matthew 5:19

Hasn't Paul annulled the Jewish commandment of abstaining from pork, and the necessity for circumcision?

We must keep in mind the context of any given passage. Jesus was speaking to a Jewish audience, who were still under the law, or old covenant. He mainly was pointing at the Pharisees who had diluted down the precepts of the law by adding to it. It got to a point where they would argue whether someone could eat an egg on the Sabbath, whether the chicken "worked" or not to produce the egg. Jesus Himself broke their Sabbath laws by healing on a Sabbath, and thereby, working.
Paul wrote to Gentiles, those who were not, nor ever were, under the law. After Christ's death and resurrection, a new covenant was enacted, the covenant of grace. The law could not save anyone, all it could do was say guilty, guilty, guilty. The new covenant said you are saved by grace, God's unmerited favor, not by doing works of the law. God Himself annuled the dietary laws in Acts 10:

Act 10:11 And he saw the heaven being opened and a certain vessel like a great sheet coming down on him, being bound by four corners, and let down onto the earth;
Act 10:12 in which were all the four-footed animals of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of the heaven.
Act 10:13 And a voice came to him, Rise up, Peter, slay and eat.
Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not at all, Lord, because I never did eat anything common or unclean.
Act 10:15 And again a voice came to him a second time, What things God made clean, you do not make common.
Act 10:16 And this happened three times, and the vessel was taken up into the heaven again.

This was also an object lesson to Peter that now Gentiles, who before hand had been considered "unclean", were now part of the new covenant.
Circumcision was given by God to Abraham as a sign of His covenant with Abraham and his descendants. It was for the Israelite nation, to distinguish themselves from those who were not God's people.

He was talking about the commandments he had just gave.
Many churches teach everyone is going to heaven.
Yet in that list of happinesses is the one in Matthrew 5:5 that says "the meek will inherit the earth" They also teach the earth is going to blow up. Jesus was quoting Psalms 37:9,10,11,29 Verse 29 says the earth will be here forever.
Also, what about 9 about the peaceable? We should all be peaceable. Yet we fight wars?
Happy are the merciful, they will be shown mercy.
Also, in verse 17 Do not think I can to distroy the law and the prophets but to fulfill. Then he goes on to say that he fulfilled the law. The law was the tutor leading to Christ.
Lets go a little further what about verse 22 where it says don't be wrateful or get mad that lands you in a bad spot.
Using bad language is another no no. Who hasn't done that?
If you are mad at someone you cannot even pray to god or offer money on the alter. Read the whole book.
But for health reasons we really shouldn't eat pork.
I believe that circumcision is painful and cruel. Hopefully no one does that anymore.

Put verse 19 in context and then you will have a part of your answer.

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Jesus said that He came to fulfill the law and the prophets. You may as well ask if Paul had not annulled the Jewish law of sacrificing animals to atone for sins. Jesus fullfilled all of the laws that were meant to point to his coming. The law of circumcision and the dietary laws were meant to symbolize the inner purity that God would bring about when He poured out his Holy Spirit and gave them new hearts to obey Him.

Hebrews 10:11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, 16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds," 17 then he adds, "I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more."

Wrong. Jesus is the one who declared all foods clean.

Mark 7:18-19 - "And He said to them, "Are you so lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated? Thus He declared all foods clean."

Plus, not eating pork was not a "commandment", it was a Levitical regulation, which we are no longer under since Christ established a New Covenant.

In verse 19, Jesus made it clear, that obeying God's laws is more important than explaining them. The moral law (i.e., 10 commandments) is the direct command from God and still applies today.

The civil law applied to the daily living in Israel. Because we live in a different time and culture, the principles behind the commands are timeless and should guide our conduct. Jesus demonstrated these principles by example.

The ceremonial laws related specifically to Israel worship. We are no longer bound by ceremonial law, but again the principles behind it -to worship and love a holy God-- still apply. Jesus was often accused of violating this one by the Pharisees. Ceremonials laws, that is.

there is plenty, a extensive style of folk, who've worry expertise what's taught. Jesus taught very plenty approximately deeds and, approximately theory sufficient to get the factors throughout the time of. -- First, seem at this scripture: Jesus stated: Luke sixteen:sixteen, The regulation and the prophets have been until John: from that ingredient the happy tidings of the dominion of God are introduced, and all and sundry forces his way into it. (Darby) #2: KJV Matt 22:37 Jesus stated unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy recommendations. 38 it extremely is the 1st and great commandment. 39 And the 2d is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On those 2 commandments carry close each and every of the regulation and the prophets #3: Mat 15:18 yet those issues which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the middle; and that they defile the guy. 19 For out of the middle proceed evil recommendations, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, fake witness, blasphemies: 20 those are the failings which defile a guy: yet to consume with unwashen palms defileth not a guy. ------- What we quickly see then is that the regulation covenant replaced into fulfilled on Jesus and as a result replaced into until John. Thereafter as taught by ability of Jesus & Paul, the hot covenant of religion replaced into favourite with the Christians. This new covenant did away with superfluous problems with the regulation that had served their accountability. The priesthood replaced into replaced through fact the actual sacrifice were given in Christ; now Christ replaced into the extreme priest of God. The ordinances approximately sacrifices, gala's, and the sabbath have been long previous. What remains are the unalterable issues, that we could desire to not kill, commit adultery, robbery, and so on - the failings that Jesus shows are against the 'love thy neighbor as your self' - issues that come out of the middle and defile. all and sundry that teaches that to achieve this is positive will veritably not see the Lord who basically people who stay in all holiness shall see. Obedience to our Lord's instructions are a could desire to at ultimate attempt fee.
