I think scones with lemon curd on top sounds better!!! Our local country fair just ended over Labor Day weekend and there was a booth selling fried dough slathered in lemon curd. How great does that sound? Try adding lemon zest and juice to your recipe and topping it with the lemon curd......................yumm!

I've made scones with lemon curd in the mix with some currants as well, they were nice but only tasted slightly of lemon. I would suggest that you add some lemon zest as well to bring out a more lemony taste. Though I have plain scones with curd spread on top, also I've had fruit scones with cream cheese & lemon curd or jam on top.
You could have lemon curd on ;- french toast, pancakes, oatmeal, yogurt.
