Hairspray works, as does mousse, or a gel......of course, there's always the whip & chair...LOL

Seriously though, you can either straighten your hair if you really want to, then use hairspray to keep it in place.

Good luck & enjoy the party.

Well my hair is the same its puffy and thick. But when you straighten I it alot it messes up your hair.hair spray does work. abut if i were you i would take a shower right before going to the party because then you`ll feel cool on a hot day . when it dries put it in a ponytail or a bun.

i use Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk and Sleek and Shine Serum. I put them on while my hair is wet and blow dry it straight, then flat iron it with Redken "spray starch". I use the garnier because it locks out humidity and the spray starch is meant to be used with flat irons and curling irons (and also offers heat protection) and keeps my hair the way I want it ALL DAY LOOOONG. I only had to go to cosmetology school to figure that out, lol.

there's anti frizz products in beauty stores like Sally's and Beauty First. you can try to go there. plus theres also antifrizz shampoo that you can use for longterm nonfrizziness. try curling your hair too instead of straightening it because curly hair looks good up or down.
