I want to be a Rad-Tech with the ultimate goal of doing MRI's and Sonographing as well. You know as a tech. Would it be best to start out as a Rad-Tech and get my foot in the door at a hospital? Or should I try to learn Sonography or MRI as well? I'm only asking because there are not alot of Sonography or MRI programs near me. There are diploma or certificate programs? Would that be acceptable to a hospital/clinic? I'm totally new to the Health Care industry. I was a trucker, if that gives you an idea ;0)

Definitely become a rad tech first. A lot of programs require you to be an ARRT-registered tech before getting into a sonography program. MRI can be learned on the job after you are an RT.
