Just got rid of our low/high cheapo crockpot, and looking for a nicer one. Definitely want one too with an insert that removes, the outside doesnt get hot, and something I can leave on to cook all night or all day. Dont need too much capacity.

I'd go with either
Rival brand or Black & Decker.
I love the Rival that I have as it has a large capacity,
but the Black & Decker can also be used as a deep fryer....it's awesome and has removeable crock.

I was so excited when my crockpot with the floral print and lo/high setting finally died!!!!!! I bought a Rival Crockpot stainless with keepwarm/lo/high/timed settings and a removable pot. Still not very expensive. I did notice in my travels a few days ago that Cuisnart makes a neat looking oval one with a lift out insert. That is also in stainless steel.
