No I treat it as the disease, not the cure.

Eventhough ,i know i am forgiven ,i still ask for forgiveness everyday. Some days living the Christian life is harder than others and i have to be like David and say ,Create in me a pure heart and renew a right spirit in me.But I TRUST in Jesus alone for my salvation and no other.

Great point. And, what so many leave off now (thanks in part to "The Four Spiritual Laws") is the absolute need of repentence.
People have come to see prayers, even Bible verses as some sort of talisman, or protective good luck charm.

Thank you for pointing out that there is a sincere difference between saying a prayer and becoming a Christian. Christ expects sincerity in faith (heart) AND deed (action). He said that He would remove lukewarm Christians (those who speak it but don't really care) from His presence. I personally think those people will be weeping and gnashing their teeth loudest on judgement day. Heaven was within their reach, but they failed to follow through.

When someone asks a question such as this I think of a Christian, German concentration camp guard at Auschwitz in 1944. He has a loving family who he takes to church every Sunday without fail. On this day, he is leading a family of Jews to their deaths in the gas chamber. Here's where things get confusing for me. According to the bible, all the German guard must do is accept Jesus as his savior and the son of god and ask for forgiveness of this terrible sin of multiple murders of innocent victims, and he will dwell in heaven forever when he dies after living a long and fruitful life. The innocent Jewish family, however, because they don't believe just as the German does, after having their lives cut miserably short and not allowed to bring up children have, grandchildren and enjoy the other niceties of life like the German will enjoy, will burn in hell for eternity. That's just sick man.

A written prayer is a guideline. A prayer from your heart, believing in God, and leading a repentative life will save you.

Christianity is like a cootie shot. A pointless excersise to eliminate the prospect of something that does nto exist (in this case Hell)

i believe you are incorrect on this one.... there is a prayer that is in the beginning of your spiritual journey with God... that is the prayer where you confess your sins to God and to ask him to come into your life and to forgive you, you ask for his blessings and for him to find favor in you as you walk the walk of a Christian... a relationship with God through prayer is all over the Bible... It is a must do....

yeah, i think a lot of people use it as "fire insurance" they think that they just pray a prayer, and that boys them the insurance..... but having fire insurance is nore than just sayin one prayer, and then go on about your sinful ways... thats just not how it works.. you have to continue in the faither everyday! not just sunday, or saturday, but every day!

I agree with you on this. To many Christians don't live their religion. They live two lives instead of one. I think that many Christians still belive but they do not show it. They don't stand up for God's word.
