Cats are desert animals, and their kidneys concentrate their urine, whereas we and dogs have a lot of water in our pee so it doesnt smell as bad. That is why it is very important to ensure your cat drinks enough and doesnt eat only dry food, since they are easily prone to getting dehydrated and then suspeptible to kidney disease. Because it's more concentrated and there's more ammonia. Dogs drink a lot more water, pound for pound, than cats, and therefore cat urine has more chemicals and is more acidic than dog urine.
