Have you really never read the Ten Commandments?
You can find them in Exodus 20.
And why do you pick on homosexuality?
All life is covered by the Ten Commandments.
Your biggest problem will be getting past the first one, never mind getting to the seventh.

That's a big question with no easy answer. It's true that the Bible states that homosexual behaviour is a sin, but that doesnt mean that homosexuals cannot know Jesus and go to heaven. It's against God's original plan and design, we are made male and female in His image because it takes both to create the whole image of God, but God loves and accepts all. Some people say that it's 'natural' therefore it must be good, but that doesn't always follow.
Anyone who becomes a Christian is making a commitment to be more like Jesus, and that includes giving up any behaviour that goes against God. Again though, God knows this isn't easy and is endlessly patient, allowing us to make mistakes and to take our time.

Homosexuality is a sin but so is lying and thinking impure thoughts. There is no classification with sin. Sin is sin.... and it is all rebellion against God. Luckily Jesus dealt with sin once and for all. When you are born again your sin is dealt with because of what Jesus has done and if you are a homosexual God will deal with that aspect of your charactor. I'm not talking about lightning bolts you will simply loose interest in it over time and in some cases immediately.

Again... no...
Even the christians (which are not the only people on earth) would have to admit that the Bible also says:
Jesus: "I tell you the truth, the prostitute and tax collector shall enter the kingdom of heaven before ye."
(Matthew 21:32)
What this means is that "misconduct" is a lesser sin than hypocrisy.
All of the biblical citations that lead a person to believe that homosexuality is a sin are gospels (which comes from the same root-word as gossip).
I have a Christian friend that cleverly asks "Is it written in red letters?" (meaning: did Jesus say it) when people start admonishing homosexuals in the name of Christ.
Christ - were he alive today - would be spending his time healing the sufferers of AIDS before he would be fraternizing with powerful mega-church leaders.
Christians who use homophobia as the basis of their entire religion are not followers of Christ... they are followers of hate.
All people sin, if you are a christian... judge not.
Muslims, who use the Qur'an as their sacred text (which is actually quite similar to the Bible - with some "extras") have been quite homophobic in their society as well... which many Muslims will freely admit is a political doing before it is a religious one...
This leads us to the idea that homophobia, fundamentalism, and terrorism share definite, undeniable traits:
Intolerance, hatred, murder, hypocrisy, false righteousness, rebellion against science, mistreatment of women and minorities, and finally - claims that they are the ONLY true followers of their particular faith.
Buddhism, Hindu, Wicca, Asatru, Vodun, Unitarian Universalism, Religious Science (not scientology), Taoists, Druids, United Church of Christians, United Church of Canada, Episcopal Church, USA and thousands of others have taken measures to end homophobic rhetoric in their religions (or never had much homophobia in the first place)....

I am convinced that the majority of the commandments and laws in the bible were created to prevent diseases, for example the eating of animals that are 'unclean', inbreeding and to maintain a stable community(no stealing, murder etc.) during the times prior to science and an educated population.
If you think about if from this point of view then the laws against homosexuality and sodomy make sense for the time that they were written. Any one today cannot deny that anal sex carries with it more risk of disease and possible injury than vaginal sex and therefor i can understand why a taboo against homosexuality would exist in the bible.
The problem with the Bible and other 'Sacred texts' is that they cannot be updated (as they are considered the final word of god) and as such they cannot take into account things such as birth control and medicine that can combat the greater majority illnesses caused by sexual intercourse. Likewise they cannot be updated to todays standards, i would have no wish to covet my neighbors '***', infact im convinced my neighbour doesnt even have a donkey.

Since I do not believe in god and in fact feel strongly that it does not exist, then obviously the laws you talk about are unreal too - or simply the inventions of power-crazed religious 'leaders'. Sin... what's that?
Live your life the best you can, thinking and choosing right above wrong by your own conscience. Respect others' right to do the same then maybe we'll all get on better together!

I couldn't give a ****. The only law I follow is criminal law, which says homosexuality is as legal as heterosexuality.
As for those who have quoted the bible, that hate filled book says it ok to abuse, murder, rape, stone and bully other people. The story of Sodom and Gamorrah condemns homosexual rape, while allowing incestuous relationships and prostitution. Double standards, methinks!

Yes, but we are called to love our brother...period...I have no explanation as to why people are Gay...Born Gay, decided to be Gay...I do not know, and wouldn't begin to assume.
All I know is that we are supposed to give an answer when we are asked a question, so The bible does condemn Homosexuality, but it also condemns those who judge others...So we are to love and respect all brothers and sisters.

Being a homosexual is NOT a sin : being homosexual is a state of being, not a choice. You could argue for and against the notion that the practise of homosexual acts are sinful.
God loves us unconditionally, it is up to us how we respond to that love.
