they are fulfilling scripture.
Two verses dealing with those that ridicule;
1. 2Peter3:. 3 For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires..
2. Proverbs 9:7 He that is correcting the ridiculer is taking to himself dishonor, and he that is giving a reproof to someone wicked—a defect in him. 8 Do not reprove a ridiculer, that he may not hate you. Give a reproof to a wise person and he will love you. 9 Give to a wise person and he will become still wiser. Impart knowledge to someone righteous and he will increase in learning.
What you may not like to know though, is that, it is the doctrines that were grafted onto the truth over the years, that have created the contradictions to understanding the Bible.
One merely needs to know the truth, and then take a peek at the skeptics annotated Bible, to see why the ridiculers even have any fuel at all.
Although the contradictions are easily overthrown by one who knows the scriptures, and the unfettered and unpolluted truth, many skeptics thrive on the false beliefs that many Bible believers cling to.
Part of this ridicule, is directly attributable to those who continue to promote lies about the Bible, even thought they think they are promoting truth.

Q: Other than desire to seek truth, what might motivate someone to look for contraindications in the Bible?
A: If they do it privately it might be just an academic interest. If they do it as a public pursuit it probably is just immature posturing and bluster.
Q: What does it tell you about the person when he or she seems to delight in trying to ridicule the Bible?
A: Probably the person's immature, low in self-esteem, pent up anger as an issue, enjoys the feeding frenzy atmosphere that comes with being able to demean the beliefs of others while hiding in the pack from the perceived consequences.

Actually, many people have started out as bible believers and than discovered the contradictions. They didn't go looking for them to begin with.
What would motivate someone to ignore or defend the contradictions in the bible ? What does it tell you about a person when they offer feeble explanations for the contradictions ?

I don't 'delight' in trying to ridicule anything, anymore than you 'delight' in trying to ridicule my lack of belief in any gods, or someone elses belief in a different god.
I look for evidence of truth and state my findings as I see them, wether they be from the bible or elsewhere.
I would have no further interest in the bible if people were not intent on trying to either convert me or ensure that their religious faction had control of my government.
I am being forced to play my corner.

Don't delight in ridiculing the bible. Simply answer questions posed to me. But when I'm seeking truth, I don't go anywhere near a bible or any other religious text.

Would you blindly follow ANY religion ? or you you question a religion? God wants us to question faith and religion . when we argue against something we gain knowledge about that thing . I to argued against things in the bible and still realise the bible is no longer fact but a guide to being a better person ,
because the bible has been reworded and revised over the hundreds of years it has existed . yet the tales still tell a truth . and it is what the bible tells us about being a good person is what is important if this person is a good person , let them question the bible , but show them it is the broader lesson of the bible that is important

When I see someone delighting in ridiculing the bible, it tells me: "Here is a person no longer content to live in the bronze age. Here is someone who would like to get the yoke of an ancient and outmoded superstition from around their neck. Here is a person who would like to free humanity from the senseless torment it has suffered for the last 3000+ years, so that we might get around to suffering, perhaps, more sensible torments."

There is a fine line between believers and non-believers as far as how strongly they believe in their beliefs/non-beliefs.... we as Christians use the bible to prove our points as non-believers try to use the bible to probe their points... i sooo wish i could understand what the thought process truly is that keep people from not wanting to believe?? do they think it would make their life more positive?? cause always looking for a way to down something or find fault in it seems to be pretty negative...

Well I dont think its wrong to look for contradictions in the Bible. Its ok to check for accuracy to see for yourself whether it is consistent.
On the other hand someone might look for these contradictions and twist some words or facts to intentionally misrepresent them

The Word of God has been under attack ever since the Romans tried to wipe out the Christians. It has been burned, ripped from the believer and hunted down. The believers knew to hide the writings from prying eyes, in the beginning.
Today, there are laws to help us protect what is ours so the attack is changed. If the devil cannot wipe it out completely, then he will do his best to discredit it.
