I signed up for a credit card when I was on a cruise. I was supposed to earn points towards my next cruise with each purchase. The card was originally with MNBA. Then I got a new one (same account) from Bank of America. There's nothing on the card website about points accumulating and nothing in the statements. I emailed customer service and they had no info on that. Should I contact the cruise line? Is there anything to do or should I just cancel it?

Sounds like after BOA took over they stopped that particular rewards program. Unfortunately that happens all too often, however normally you have a period of time to use or sometimes transfer those points, contact the cruise line.

Juniper Bank has a SeaMiles card with Carnival that has a pretty good rewards rate.

Call the cruise company and MNBA. What do you mean that you got a new account? How could it be the same account if there are different banks involved?

I think that you got messed up in some type of switch in credit cards.

You can contact the cruise line but it sounds like BOA dropped that program.

Did you have many points accumulated? If not, it might not be worth your time to pursue.

i used to sell credit cards. theres probly something in the fine print that they didnt tell you like if you spend 2000+ on your card and pay it off in 2mo. or less in 4 even payments you get points or some b.s. like that. the best thing to do would be cancel the card. i have alot of expieriance with credit cards and most of them tell you one thing and then void it in the fine print. a card saleman will basicly tell you anything to get you to sign on. most work off of sales so every one who buys it is more money they get. you got screwed. the only thing you can do now is remember not to make the same mistake in the future.

Hi,

Find out who promised you the points. It could be some credit card selling agent who would have made some false promises to sell the card to you. Check out http://creditcard.creditoverseer.info for some useful info and tips on the matter. Good luck!

Yeah, pay off the outstanding balance and cancel it. Get a card that you can collect air miles on.

You should ask for a NASCAR credit card from BOA and save up to get the Dale Earnhart jacket...
