Well, you could try to get your beliefs enacted as law, or maybe push them as science in public school classrooms, or maybe you could come by my door with pamphlets. Or maybe you could convert me the way the missionaries did to the natives in South America. Hey, why don't you fire up the heresy trials again? Maybe establish a little theocracy?

hi there fellow Christian!
I think that you cannot force atheists to believe our beliefs but you can convince them. It is up to them to believe you or not. You cannot debate with them about their beliefs. In a debate about people's beliefs, no one can win because everyone thinks that what they believe in is right. It is their desicion to change that not yours. They have the power to control thier life like you do. Look at it this way...how would you feel if someone tried to change your beliefs? I ,as a Christian, want people to see things the way I do but if I can't convince them that being a Christian is great then I couldn't do anything any more. I wouldn't really bother about the atheists but when they start bothering me first then that's when I'll defend my beliefs. I'll not try to change his/her beliefs but I will defend Christianity. Just like Jesus, he did great things and taught about His Father and being good. Many believed him while others did not. Those who have faith in him were saved but those who did not choose to believe him was doomed. As long as you can DEFEND (yes defend and NOT argue or FORCE) Christianity that's okay. You have convinced people but if they didn't listen it's their problem. Don't bother them because as long as you know that you've tried your best to spread Christianity, as long as you love God and as long as you're a true Christian then you'll be safe. Until here...
God bless!

Forcing beliefs upon others is not Christian. We all have free will to choose what and how we believe. The act of forcing someone, whether it be nice or ugly, is vain and shows that the human who is forcing their belief upon others is puffed up with pride.

It always amazes me how trick questions like this go right over people's heads!
Feel a bit of a breeze, there, Hypnopope??
You can't FORCE your beliefs on anyone. Oh, you can FORCE them to pay lip-service, or to pay a tax in order to continue to practice their own beliefs...but you cannot actually FORCE someone to believe what you want them to believe.
Maybe you should concentrate on the inner Jihad...and see if you can come to terms with the idea that not everyone wants your peace.

Well Jihad Jill, if you attempt to force your Christian beliefs down Atheist throats - why don't you just go for the gusto and hijack a plane and ram it down their atheistic throats and send them to God to deal with. Sound familiar?
Christians do not use force. Those that do have no right to call themselves christians.
FLIP - you HAVE to read ChurchLady's response on page 2 -- HILARIOUS. Thank you Church Lady.

Christians do not force their beliefs on any one. The Way is clear, and all are invited to embark upon the journey when they are ready.
Best you concentrate on your own business and let others alone. Besides, if you're enamoured of "jihad", you are not Christian. Go feed the goats, Osama is calling!

The Christian way first off is not forcing Christianity upon anyone. It is a choice everyone has to make for themselves. All we can do is to listen to their pont and then to present the good news of Jesus and salvation to them. God wants us to come to Him out of love for Him not because we were forced to. Learn to be tactful in witnessing for God, He will show you the way. This is an excellent forum to be a witness but if we are not using our witness right we turn people off and if they don't listen they cannot respond.
I hope this helps. God bless you. From your sister in Christ.

Hi and good morning...I just answered another question where an individual was having problems with another because this certain individual was 'pushing their religion' on the other because they were atheist. What I'm about to say is not being rude but trying to let you understand what is wrong with your ideal in trying to force your Christian belief on another. You have good intentions I'm sure because you believe in God. This is your preference. But, you need to respect others in what they believe also. Just because you believe in your faith doesn't mean another has to believe the same. When God gave us the knowledge to choose and to think, he knew that not all of His children were going to believe in Him or His word. We have the power as humans to 'think' for ourselves. Most of us anyway. So with this in mind then you need to realize that not all of us 'think' the same way. We each have our own identity and what we believe in. We have our own ideals and thoughts on certain issues. God placed us all on a path and it's our choice how we walk on that path of life. We are responsible for our own choosing and our mistakes we make along the way. So if an individual chooses not to believe in God or His word then it's their choice not yours. You should have respect for what they decide and their beliefs. It's not your responsibility to change how they feel. For example: If an individual persuaded you to 'jump' off the bridge would you feel in your own heart that this was right? No..you would resent the fact, since you have your own thoughts. Another example: If an individual tried to persuade you to become a non Christian would you like that person? Of course not because you believe in your faith. Individuals don't appreciate someone coming into their lives and trying to change their own ideals or their faith. It's considered rude on that persons intentions to try to change or influence ones own mind. So in my opinion, I wouldn't be going around trying to change other individuals beliefs or ideals. Not unless they are willing to listen to your views on the issue. I would not recommend forcing the issue if these other indivudals are not interested. Have a blessed day.

How about this, "your" people regulate abortion, stem cell research, cloning and countless other avenues that make life more bearable, healthier, progressive and overall better. We don't believe in the "saving power of Christ" or any other sky god or the like there of. We deal in reality and would like to see the progression of mankind in an ethical and mutually beneficial way, we don't allow superstition and the belief in the supernatural to justify what we do or believe. Our decisions are based in reality and the understanding that we are all free and should use that freedom to help "everyone".

There is no 'Christian' way to 'force' anything uppn another human being.
The Man said "Unless you accept me as a little child, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven".
Nowhere have I seen Him say "Force yourself upon all others".
He DID say "Render unto Ceaser, the things that are Ceaser's but unto God, the things that are God's".

I believe. However, to make others believe by FORCE is ridiculous. People will either find God or NOT, it is not for someone else to harp on and on about it.
How would you feel if someone FORCED you to believe in Allah? Like how about 'cut off their heads if they don't convert to Islam' ? Sounds like the radical Islamics blowing up people to be like them.... It doesn't make sense.
How would you like it for an Atheist to berate you constantly? Force is not the way of a true Christian. Jesus did not do anything but act in accordance with God and Love. In this way he showed us the way to treat others.
And if all else fails in answering your question....ask Him! Private conversations with God are very helpful....If God is truely everywhere then he resides in every breath you take.
