I recently arrived at a boarding school and am extremely homesick. I miss my friends my family even just the thought of my house and I breakdown into tears. I can't even go out to the dances because I'm worried about people seeing me crying. I've even thought about doing something bad just so I could get suspended and sent home. Please somebody help me getover this homesickness.

I know people say don't think about it but that's the hardest part because everything reminds me of home, my clothes my bed my computer and every time I see these things I breakdown.

I wonder how old you are. I mean I know some children are in first grade when they go to boarding school and that must be so so difficult. I do hope you are older than that. But no matter, since you are not happy. Please go talk to your headmaster or counselor or someone there assigned to you. They should be able to help you. You have undergone a very difficult change and it will take many weeks to get used to it but you WILL. This is your future. Your family loves you but to spend all the money they have on this school for you means they want you to be the best you can be and have a wonderful life. If you went home, you would see that your future wouldnt be as bright. Perhaps the public schools in your area are not good.. Sure it would feel good for a couple days to be back home, but then what. You would be just average. Please try to develop a mechanism to keep you going through the day just one day at a time. Just promise yourself if you can go one day thinking about a happy time or reading something you like. Do not worry about dances now since they arent that important .In a month you may want to try them. You are in my prayers and I KNOW you will be fine.

and you wont be sad.
Also Make new friends and talk to someone and tell them how you feel,
And If you want advise from me.
I used to be a non Christian and knew nothing about it and I know am a born again christian and im so happy!
And soemtimes I feel like If i knew God when i was away from home I would not have been homesick Cuz God is always with me and would have helped me out

Sink yourself into whatever you are doing. Get involved in as much as you can. When you are busy, you don't have time to be upset. I know how you feel. I was away from my family for a year in Korea. You will make great friends, but you have to give it a chance. Remember that you will be home soon and work towards making your family that much prouder of you when they see you.

the first time your away from home for any length of time most people do feel the same way you do. as you meet new friends, get use to your new routine, and find new ways to entertain yourself, you will feel less and less homesick. just give it time.

Give it time. It will get better. Besides. You have all of us to talk to. Try to make some friends. Dry your tears, comb your hair, and get out there
