I have asked the same thing OVER and OVER. I don't understand how a very covert flirt (running your fingers under a stall?!) can be considered illegal. I have read the police report. It mentions nothing of lewd behavior in public. It only mentions that Craig was sending signals to another man. Why is this illegal? What in the world is going on in this country? Have we all gone INSANE?

Lewd conduct in any public place illegal. A loser cop? What kind of loser are you for even saying something so unintelligent?! You think cops are in the bathroom for no reason? Did you follow the story at all? There were reports of a man in the bathroom allegedly soliciting or trying to solicit sex. Police go to the bathroom and Sen. Craig gets busted. Pretty clean cut if you ask me. Oh and for the record...just because you compare what happens in bars etc. to Sen. Craig's case doesn't make a single difference. I honestly hope your only defense for this question wasn't the foolish remark about what goes on in bars.... I can hardly even take you seriously. You must be one of those people who can't accept responsibility for your actions so you blame it on someone else.......

The "loser cop" was probably doing what he was ordered to do by his bosses.

Bothering people in a rest room is illegal because it is BOTHERING PEOPLE. Gay or straight, most people go to the rest room to take care of some pressing personal business and really don't need to have their feet tapped. If the "loser cop" had been assigned this duty, I would expect that the police had gotten many complaints about this sort of thing in that rest room. That's why the cop was there.

I agree. I think it's only been made such a big deal because he is all about "family values" (this is what I hear....like most people, I had never heard of him until last week). And because he's a "family values" Republican, the media HAS to have a field day with it.

But he only admitted that he INTENDED to commit a lewd act...he didn't actually do it. Kinda like those guys on MSNBC that get busted for trying to have sex with kids. They only intended to, but that intent is enough to get them busted. That makes sense though because they are dealing with children....I don't know. I'm sick of hearing about it though!

Doesn't make sense to me either. How does a hand gesture get you arrested?
Craig was an idiot for pleading guilty. He should have said not guilty and the cop would have had to prove something that's not even on tape.

If Craig is that stupid, he shouldn't be making laws for the rest of us.

because if Larry Craig would have had his way.... a dick would have been either in his mouth or his A S S!!!!

he solicited sex! same thing happens with guys trying to hire prostitutes. the guys don't have to be caught in the sex act to be busted.... it's the intent of the crime!!!!

believe me that undercover female cops posing as prostitutes aren't going to let the guys screw them in order to bust them!!!!!

Plus the idiot pleaded guilty!!!! that is an admission of guilt in case you weren't sure!!!!

Cops are by nature losers. That's why they become cops. They cannot accumulate any power on their own, they have to be appointed to it. I HATE cops!

From what I've heard nothing he did sounds illegal, immoral maybe but not illegal. Just another example of the media going after a republican, if it had been Barney Frank the issue would never have been raised.

He's a Republican Senator, elected on the basis of his conservative beliefs. For him to have homosexual sex is counter to that, and a strong indication that he has been deceiving his party and constituents.
