Yes, they're called semi permanent tattoo - try either yahoo or googles search engines to research them. By all accounts they're a bad idea, when they do fade, if they fade, they fade in patches and look awful. To be honest I think it was just bad tattoo artists trying to get more clients by saying it would fade. but as I said, research it and draw your own conclusions.

tattoos do change over time. In fact, not all of the ink inserted into the skin can remain there. Instead, the body will do its best to take some of it away before it becomes permanent. The majority of the ink, however, is encapsulated and is then subject to the same changes that your skin undergoes. After the first three weeks of a tattoo's new life—in other words, after it is completely healed—the sun is a tattoo's biggest enemy. Exposure to ultraviolet light, which we know damages the skin, also damages a tattoo, breaking down the pigment to some extent. The result is obvious: faded tattoos with color becoming less vibrant anti also becoming less distinct, perhaps even blurred. The effects of the sun can vary greatly, however. The bearer of the tattoo controls to what extent the effects of the sun will play a part. Tattoos can also change shape as the body changes, stretching or contracting as the skin does.

I already answered this...
Absolutely don't buy into this concept. No one can determine with accuracy exactly how shallow they will be with the tattoo ink. Impossible. It will still end up in the dermis (where tattoos belong)
This is an excuse for crappy equipment with a crappy technique by those who really don't know a lot about the industry. Mostly it is "semi permanent" mumbo jumbo from the UK and other parts of Europe and Canada.
Their tattoos fade quickly - yes - after three years but they don't tell you what remains either has to be touched up or lasered out.
Freedom 2 is working on an ink that will dissolve at a pre-determined rate but that is not yet available.

Okay only crappy tattoos last 3-4 years. Don't get a tattoo at all unless you want it for life. I have seen some peoples tattoos have faded but honestly it was not a safe way to get them. I suggest find something you like, getting in a place that can be hidden if you needed to, and go to a professional tattoo shop and get it done. Best of luck.

No. People will SAY it does, but it doesn't work. What winds up happening, is that the tattoo will fade, but never disappear. So you wind up with a blotchy, half-gone tattoo. It's bad.

What would be the point of getting a tattoo then? That is why temparary tattoos were made. The whole point of having a tattoo is for it to be there forever.
