Went for a second interview on fri with the dept manager and in my opinion it went quite well and we discussed on remuneration in details. At the end of the interview, the manager said that they will get HR to get in touch with me.

What does this mean? I don't want to assume things and I have another interview coming up on monday. But I do hope this means a yes and HR will contact me shortly to give me an offer. They didn;t say how long I will have to wait though.

The second interview is very encouraging but not in the bag...YET!!?? BUT, it could be yours.
Don't assume that you are going to get it and not give any other interviews your best shot. Go to any prospects that you have and act like it's your only chance. That way, you will give it your best. Who knows, you may be offered both of them? Then, you get to pick.
Good Luck.

I assume the interview on monday is with another firm. The second interview is that you have made it to the short list which maybe a couple or as many as half a dozen. Go to the Monday interview as though you have not got the other job and leave it in the hands of the first company to do what they have to do.

If you wait and you have missed out HR could take a week or more to let you know and you could miss on the second job if you put them off..

If the first job is the one you really want call them on tuesday and ask if there has been a decision made. In the end keep all your options open.

At my work, three interviews are required before a job offer is extended. I am usually the person giving the first or second interview. If I do not think you will be a good fit for our company you will probably not get the third interview. If you have a third interview scheduled, things look great. Don't go into the next interview cocky. Be yourself. It made a good impression on the first two. Good luck.

Discussions os salary, etc are a good sign usually, but no guarantee. Go to your other interview, but do not accept an offer there and then you need time to "consider the offer" if made.

If no word from the HR department after a week, call your contact, politely enquire if they know when you might hear . . .
Also the fact they will contact to "make an offer" is a VERY good sign

Good luck

I would go to the other interview. There was no explicit promise of a job, just a remark about contacting human resources. I do think the second interview means they are interested, but check out the other job as well. Good luck! Remember, believe in yourself.

If I were you, I would go to the interview on Monday. You can always negotiate later and tell the one company you are really interested in working for them and need some answer since, this other company has made you an offer. This is when it is ok to lie.. :) Good Luck!

It could mean anything. Depending on the level of the position there can be many many many interviews. They want the right person for the position.

And the wait time is up in the air. I would be hopeful, but would not quit looking for a job, or quit your currentl job or anything like that.

It means you're still in consideration for the job. The first interview was just a preliminary interview to "screen" candidates that they wanted to take a serious look at. Sounds like you've got a real shot at this one, but prepare for the upcoming (Monday) invterview as thoroughly as you've prepared for the other two.
Good luck!

It could mean that:
- you may have a discussion with HR about salary and other perks
- or, you may be thanked by HR for your time and not offered a job
- or, you may be asked for more information from HR before they'll consider you (references, etc.)
