Evolution.

I see no independant research for it and it simply seems to be an inadequate attack on a well substantiated theory with huge amounts of data to support it.

So can a Creationist give me an argument for creationism that it not an attempt at dissproving the theory of Evolution?

Yep... here we go...

Q: What does I. D. teach?

A: Intelligent Design (or I.D.) teaches the principle of Science Harmoniously Integrating Theology (or S.H.I.T.) as a way to unite those who believe in Creation and Evolution into a single harmonious group.

Q: You teach S.H.I.T.?

A: Yes, the more you look at Intelligent Design, the more you will find it's quite full of S.H.I.T.

Q: Who would believe this S.H.I.T.?

A: I.D. will appeal to Evolutionists, Creationists and Agnostics, as shown by the Tenets of I.D.:

* There are proven gaps in scientific knowledge.
* Intelligence leaves behind a characteristic signature (like an artist) of logical progression through a series of systematic methodical stages.
* The gaps in science are filled in by acts of a Designer.
* The scientific study of fossil records reveals these signatures again and again.
* God Created the process of Evolution!
* Evolution shows the existence of God!

So far, the three posts in favor of ID have been one ad hominem (personal attack) and two petitio principii (circular argument) fallacies.

Yes, i consider the overt threat that one is damned to hell in the "afterlife" as ad hominem -- it's saying that somebody is evil because they asked for facts. And, yes, saying that "the bible is right because the bible says it's right and the bible is right" is an exemplar of petitio principii.

it says so in the bible

(not that i believe in ID, but that is the only "reasonable" answer one can come up with to support it)

That's because they cannot even complete the word 'Creationi...' without an avowed Evolutionist attacking them! It works both way, friend!

But I'm cool about it because God is. The Bible opens up with an undefended assertion: 'In the beginning God created...' You either take it, or leave it.

That is my argument for creationism, which is not an attempt at disproving the theory of Evolution. God says he created the heavens and the earth. Only if he WASN'T the Creator God would he need to offer proof!
