Fleas are active in warm weather and it takes a hard frost or freeze to get them back into hibernation.

Our weather is still open for fleas, but if you can take a fine toothed comb to your cat and check every 3 strokes to see if there are fleas between the tines, and you don't find any, she's ok. If she has one or two, you can kill them and keep looking. It's when you find flea dirt (tiny dark specks ) that means the fleas have been on a while, long enough to feed, and she should probably be treated because you'll be finding more than just a few on her.

A $10 treatment of Advantage from the vets will get rid of them.

Absolutely! Use a good flea coller or liquid drops.

Yes. It is best to have your cat on a monthly preventative such as Revolution.
