It appears that what Bush et al have done is created a perpetual and of course unwinable war..I believe this was the plan because no one who could achieve the leadership of a country like the U.S., could make what could be called a mistake; but, was it a mistake?..let's see, the troops go in...we win, ok..true...then to rebuild what we have destroyed, instead of using military which could be removed anytime, they use private contractors...so now we have a huge amount of personal from all over the world that needs protecting...so now the military has to stay and protect the(US?)interests that should never have been sent in the first place...so what do we have?..we have private contractors making obscene money from the government, we have corporations the same supplying the military...everybody wins but the young teen lying mangled in the desert..but Cheney's stock rises 7000%...so, I am a stupid, commie, liberal Hilliary lover idiot..ok that is said now intelligent answers..

Well, part of the problem is people like the above who insist that since Al Qaeda attacked us several times, we should attack Iraq, even though before we attacked them, they had nothing to do with Al Qaeda. In fact, Al Qaeda always hated Hussein because he had a secular Muslim country. They wanted him to put the women back behind burkas and lock them up in houses. They wanted him to stop secular education. But now that he is gone and we are there, Iraq IS involved with Al Qaeda, not as a government but as an insurgency looking for shelter. We've created a great training ground and haven for them. If we committed every piece of firepower we have, and managed to somehow get them out of Iraq, they'd just be back as soon as we leave - see Afghanistan. But as long as there are people who blame 9/11 on Iraq instead of Al Qaeda, the Bushies will be able to keep troups there, whether we win or not.

We should have never been there to begin with, but with that being said, I watched a show last night, it had several retired military intelligence officers on that put this whole thing into prospective for me. Bush made a mistake, he now is hiding behind the military, it is a no win for them dammed if they do , dammed if the don't, the forecast is to be in Iraq for ten more years, these men said they don't think the military can take ten years more. The resurgence isn't working , hasn't worked, and we need to with draw.
Bush just won't admit he screwed up and is willing for more causalities to happen so his pride is not damaged.
I wish some one would lock him in a closet and start making decisions that make sense. What ever interests we have there cannot be greater than losing sons, daughters and fathers. I think to keep trying to over take and bulling these people is not the answer. There are other ways to bring around an understanding of other cultures.

I think its the Roman Empire after the 2nd Triumverate all over again. We take things we need from the barbarians and use the legions to keep them at the city gates. It worked for a while... just wait until the OIL really begins to run out.
Things will begin to get interesting if we don't have a nuclear exchange first.

Its all part of the plan for the New World Order with one world govt and one world govt, ruled by the backers of the govt, the World Bank, IMF, CFR and the big transnationals.

It doesn't matter which party wins the election, the same people control it all

You are wrong in everything you say. The Hundred Years war actually lasted over one hundred years. There was a winner.

The Democrats created the deal we are in as Clinton wanted to play with little girls and cigars. And sale the Lincoln bedroom to the Chi Coms. Also the Muslims attacked us before 911 here is the short list you Commies want us to forget but we will never. Twin towers 92, Mogadishu, USS Cole, Two embassies in Africa.

Now we need to send you cut and run yellow belies over to Iran with a big gift of pork dropped from a missile.
