Which English twit said this in relation to the Western Front in WW1 ? Before sending hundreds of thousands of Australian and other Allied Soldiers to their deaths on suicidal campaigns. We lost an entire generation of our best from our gene pool, than followed up with the same in the 2nd ! All this for mother England when we were a developing Nation. Lest we forget !

Conranger; this Question relates to a specific qoute not the "value" or sacrifice given to stop Nazi Germany & Japan. I am a patriotic Australian and we should be glad Soldiers are no longer seen as "expendible", but what horrific orders were given by Officers seeking their own "personal glory" !

So you consider the First World War to have been a complete waste of time?

And you consider the Second World War in similar vein?

Part of WW2, something you conveniently overlook, included stopping the Japanese Empire sweeping down and into the Australian mainland, (I believe they were knocking on the door in Borneo.)

Thankfully somebody came to your aid, and did not let you go it alone.
You have a very narrow outlook upon history its not just about YOU or your country.

I salute the sacrifices made in the name of the free world by true Australians and New Zealanders, as well as the other Nations that were our allies.
