After giving the matter a summers worth thinking, I, the self proclaimed dictator of Ayrania, have decided that men should be able to wear kilt or entari (the long white dress-like thingies that desert people wear) in the sizzling hot summer days, because the women have an unfair advantage about that. But I cannot decide which to make formal, i.e. which one, say, the bank clerks should wear?

So, what do you say? Would you like to wear a kilt or an entari during summer? You can suggest styles or type and colour of fabrics.

See? Your dictator (of Ayrania) cares for your comfort.

Well, I see that my unwilling subjects won't know benevolence even if it bites them in the... *cough*... posterior parts. I'm trying to do a favor here.

OK, OK. Shorts can be an option, too. But I have definitely banned sleeveless shirts on men. If you don't want sleeves, wear an athlete-shirt for god's sakes!

Women can wear whatever they want, of course. Nobody said this will be an equal-rights dictatoria.

I think it depends on the person.
Mel Gibson can wear a kilt but picture him in an entari.
Now... Osama bin Ladin can wear his caftan but picture him in a kilt and you'll get the giggles.
Don't the Malay have a skirt for men that is more summery than a kilt, kilts are all wool, and rough and scratchy, I think the Malay have a light weight cotton sarong for men, or are you keeping it tribal?
They should dress for their shape.
Serkefin Ayrania!!!

I am happy with my shorts in summer. I have no intention of wearing an 'entari' or a kilt. I might try the kilt if I visit the Highlands in Scotland, just for the fun of it.

Hard decision. Kilt is more formal, but entari is more comfortable. But if your highness will allow, I'd take entari with flip flops underneath. Bank clerks may wear dark blue entari with leather flip flops. That would look formal enough.
