There is no evidence to suggest this.

I have been taking antihistamines every day for the last 10 years to treat my chronic urticaria. My blood sugar levels are fine.

Antihistamines are chemicals that block the histamine which your body produces. Histamine is a chemical used by your body to fight off infections, but it quite common for it to attack non-harmful things and cause itching and swelling of skin and sinuses, watering eyes, runny nose etc as it is not needed. Antihistamines have nothing to do with your body's ability to produce insulin and regulate blood glucose levels.

No, but you will develop a resistance to them and they won't help much at all. I know I have tons of allergies and when I take the pills as directed, it has no effect. I don't want to take more but after holding out as long as I can with the eyes running, and the itchy throat, stuffed up nose, swollen puffy eyes I just give in and take more. I don't think antihistamines do suffers like me any good, but do you have these horrible symptoms and if not why are you taking them daily? To go to sleep?

No, nothing you take or eat will cause it unless you gain enough weight and you have a predisposition for diabetes. But medication like that will not cause you to develope diabetes. If it did, we would have so many more diabetics than we have because we have so very many allergy sufferers.

No, not sure why you would think that. Because it makes you thirsty? Antihistamines dry everything up, even your mouth, so its not uncommon to feel thirsty when on them.

diabetes is not something you get its a lifestyle....if you eat too much and you eat alot of sugary food your body won't be able to help you get rid of these substances....keep taxing the body and it will give up and you will need insulin.
