Yes--it demonstrates how laughably ignorant of science they are.
They criticize a scientific theory they don't know the first thing about.

I am a Christian, and I am man enough to accept my fault on this previously. Evolution, however, must be looked at in 2 regards. Macroevolution versus microevolution. The one in dispute is macroevolution. This would be the theory of common descent (or man coming from a lower form of life). The fossil record does not go back far enough to prove this. When I say far back enough what I mean is back to that first organism. I think that is why macroevolution will remain a theory. Microevolution is a well established fact. I think this one could become a law even. This would be natural selection. Just think about spermatogenesis and oogenesis. When gametes form they are selecting for genes/alleles within each individual's gene pool. Thus creating unique human life. So, again I apologize for my ignorance on this subject, but I have a new view on it. Recognizing ignorance and accepting what is the truth are all that matter. Now if someone can better prove macroevolution, then we could be onto a universal understanding of evolution. I think the catholic church even reckognizes microevolution.

ok First off you need to reconsult your dictionary.
Theory: 1. a coherent group of GENERAL PROPOSISTIONS used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena
2. a particular conception or view of something to be done or of the method of doing it; a system of rules or principles.
3. contemplation or SPECULATION.
4. GUESS or conjecture.
Second of all, Evolution does not, cannot, did not, and will not ever exist. Creationism has proved Evolution wrong time and time again, bringing up FACTS to contradict the GUESS of evolution. There is only one for of evolution that is backed up with facts and is an actual SCIENCE . Summarized briefly, Charles Darwin studied wildlife while on a voyage and he noticed the variation in the appearance of the individual animals. He guessed that this variation, given enough time, would allow these animals to change to the point that they looked different. This was not a surprising discovery, by the way. Anyone can examine different varieties of roses or cats to see this. This process of changing an organism’s appearance through a series of small changes is correctly called “microevolution” (with an “i”) and is not what we are referring to when we write “the theory of evolution”
There are many things in Bible that explain things such as the movement of the stars and the universe and explains the existance of fossils and cave drawings
The Bible describes the precision of movement in the universe.
Jeremiah 31:35,36
Thus says the LORD,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The LORD of hosts is His name):
“If those ordinances depart
From before Me, says the LORD,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease
From being a nation before Me forever.”
The book of Leviticus (written prior to 1400 BC) describes the value of blood.
Leviticus 17:11
‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
Now mind you, this book, The Bible, The truth, God's word, was written hundresds of years ago before we had any of this techknowlogy and presition instuments.
I never really understood how anyone could believe that we are all here, all 6.5 billion of us , are here by a mere accident or just by chance or how anyone can think we evolved from a primortial ooze and eventuall came from a smaller, quite hairy animal who only gets as close to humans as far as their cages go. Evolution and the Big Bang theory are called theories for a reason: because they are not proven fact. It's all speculation and it can and has been proven wrong over and over again. Google some stuff about this topic. Maybe you'll change your mind.

I do, but the bigger issue for me is that most of them don't have a clue what they are talking about. Most of those who eschew evolutionary theory (they like to call it Darwinism - which is funny since most evolutionary theorists don't even think in those terms anymore) haven't read any material, not even of the most rudementary kind, on the subject. They have no idea what the theory is about, how it works, how it is tested, why it enjoys the place of prominence in science that it does, etc., etc.
On the other hand, many of these same people will go on about the efficacy of ID theory (which really IS just a theory - as they understand the term). Yet the same is true here. Most have not read any of the literature. They haven't read Dembski or Behe or any of the other Dis. Inst. folks. Nor have they read any of the material written by respected and established scientists that debunks what ID proponents claim. Particularly interesting to me is that ID proponents have never had any article subject to peer review, nor have any tests been conducted that could validate the ID theory.
It is maddening that this thing has taken hold and how their rhetoric has made its way into the public consciousness. Of course, this is just my THEORY.

Micro evolution is proven. Micro evolution is the smaller level of evolution. The extreme evolution that you're probably refering to (apes to humans, big transistions, etc), IS a theory (a theory is not proven, just an educated guess based on fossils, observations, etc).

Set aside all emotion, my friend, and think with logic alone for a few minutes. Though this may be a novel experience for you, it will be worthwhile.
a theory is an attempt to explain something. Actually, "evolution" should be classed as merely an hypothesis, & not given the more dignified title of "theory"; since a theory is an idea ("hypothesis") that has been tested & re-created, while an hypothesis is an idea that has NOT (yet) been tested or re-created under observable, controlled surroundings.
So, when a person (Christian, hindu, or otherwise) says evloution is only a theory & not a proven fact, they are telling the truth. You don't have logical grounds for feeling angry. ... unless perhaps you enjoy being lied to ?
Though I'm not christian, I suspect your anger is due to the desire for independence. I suspect you don't wany any god, christian or otherwise, telling you what to do. This is a normal, natural part of being human. Oddly, wanting to know a supernatural being is also a normal, natural part of being human. You can compare this to other dichotomies we experience; for example, selfishness is normal & natural; no one has to teach a child how to be selfish. Yet, selfishness pursued as a lifestyle will end up costing us friends, possibly jobs, perhaps even our marriage. At some point, each human must choose to follow one nature (what some call a "higher, nobler nature") & not the other. At what point -- under what circumstances -- for what reasons -- are things not universally agreed upon.
So: it is a common theme throughout humanity , all across the globe, across all cultures, in all of history: we want contact with the supernatural, but something is in the way. What that something is, goes by various names; "sin", "bad karma", etc; what IS agreed, is that it is a bad something. How to remove that bad barrier is another topic, with many possibilities: blood sacrifice, good deeds, meditation, etc etc etc. WHO removes the barrier, is still another topic: is it the Human Who Wants The Relationship With The Supernatural Being ? is it only the Supernatural Being who can remove the barrier ? is it still another -- human or otherwise -- who mediates the relationship ?
By now you may be wondering "how is all this related to Christians saying evolution is just a theory?" Here's how: ALL human cultures, all over the globe, in ALL eras, agree: at some point, a human with knowledge is responsible for the well-being of other humans that are without that knowledge.
If I know the bridge up ahead is out, and I see you driving towards that site & not knowing your own danger, I am OBLIGATED to inform you. It doesn't matter if you like me, or my religion, or my haircut, or my news about the bridge, or my attitude, or even if you don't believe it is possible for a bridge to collapse. The point is, I have knowledge you don't, and without that knowledge you MAY be in danger. Now, I don't know all things: I don't know, beyond doubt, that you plan to cross the (vanished) bridge; maybe you're about to pull over to check a map or something. But because you MAY be endangered if I withhold that information from you, I am obligated to share that information...whether you like the information or not.
So, when a christian reminds you that evolution is, after all, only a theory, & not a proven fact, they are only being honest with you. AND if they aren't honest with you -- if they let you continue your journey, with no attempt to point out your danger -- that inaction makes them a hypocrite.
So, my friend, you cannot have your cake AND eat it. You must either (1) let christians speak up, and politely respect their willingness to share their faith with you (& trust me, it is NO pleasure to share a personal treasure, such as faith, with a scorner ) --- or else you must (2) allow them to be hypocrites, and let them enjoy traveling a road to life with their God while you stumble blindly toward disaster without God, and in that case you MUST NOT rebuke them for hypocrisy.
After all: if you require them to shut up, while their faith requires them to speak up, aren't you requiring them to be hypocrites ?
So....if you WANT them to be hypocrites, does that mean you enjoy being lied to ?
Okay, you can go back to emotion-based thinking now. Just be aware that many a pilot flying without instruments has crashed into the ground, because his senses told him he was ascending.

Look at yourselves. Arguing over theories and gods. You are all acting foolish. You all fail who are arguing about this need to brighten your view and see it all. You are all human. Stop dwelling on the past whether your ancestors were monkeys or born stright from God. If there is no way to know for sure, then just accept that you're here now and live your life fruitfully.

So you hate it when Christians agree with the scientific community? Cuz they say its a theory.
Actually, its based on theory.
there are many other explanations for the data collected, other than evolution.

Yes, you can tell them that a :scientific theory" is different to the laymans theory, but they WILL NOT learn this..
There are many examples of words having dual or multiple meanings, yet creationists and christian fundies WILL NOT let this apply to a "scientific theory"..
Examples are: creation, ball, lighter etc..
There are none so blind as those who WILL NOT see..

Yes...as matter of fact I do. Sure, they are free to say it, but it is an infuriating testament to the willful ignorance of our country, of their stubborness, unwillingness to abandon preconceived notions, and blatant disregard to the implications of actually changing the way education works based upon their uninformed biases.
